Odds in favor of the the 3 opponents – Hong Kong Mahjong Club Review

05/23/16 update: After I posted the original review, I stopped playing this game for more than a year. I have not deleted the app. About 8 months ago, I was curious if the game had changed for the better or not. Guess what... My score was reduced (for no apparent reason) from 40k to just 3.5k. I guess the designer did not like my comment. But I tried to play it to see if the game was still heavily in favor of the 3 opponents. After a couple of months, my frustration level soared as the game had not changed fir the better. I guess the designer does not like real players to score high. It must hurt his/her ego. My view: This is supposed to be a leisure activity, getting relaxed along the way. But with the current opponent-biased strategy, real players get frustrated the more he/she plays it. It is not good to one's health. I just deleted it. -------------------------------------------- I used to like this game and played that a lot. But for the past few months, the game had changed considerably. The tiles so distributed to each player's hand should be random. But the winning tiles, in the designer's wisdom, often are given to the 3 opponents. I am not a notice, nor expert player. But I know the game enough to know how to play. My score reached a middle 5 figure number. Then my luck started to turn about 3 months ago. I could not win either playing defensive or offensive. My opponents often self scored, despite my efforts to minimize their chance to win. Now I no longer enjoy this game. Time to move on to something else.
