Why 5 stars? – Cruise Control Review

First off a disclaimer, I've played this game and gave a lot of feedback which was implemented during the entire beta process. So while I might be a bit biased when I talk about a game I do try to be honest and upfront. With that said here I go. Let me get one thing out of the way first. For those that love a premium experience this game has it. There are absolutely no energy timer BS. The IAP is structured so you can decide what you want to spend. For myself I've already purchased the $5 no ads/double coins premium package which basically gives you the premium experience. This game is structured however for anyone in mind. There are options to only buy no ads or just double coins. Or you can play pretty comfortably spending nothing at all. If you buy the double coin it doubles the coins of the opt in ads as well. So again there is value in buying the $5 package. Ok so let's get to the gameplay itself. You are driving a car in a very unique, one fingered, tap control scheme on 80's type of neon tracks avoiding other vehicles and enemy helicopters dropping bombs. All at the sametime trying to pick up coins and power ups which include score multipliers and coins as well as repair tokens and other awesome offensive power ups. Some of these power ups you can upgrade with the coins you collect as well as you can use the coins to use a claw machine to win other vehicles, all resembling vehicles from famous tv and cartoon shows from the 80's. Simply put its awesome. To make the leaderboards fair all of the vehicles are cosmetic only. All power ups are random. Everyone has a fair chance. The gameplay itself, using one finger to change direction does take some getting used to but once you get the hang of it you will love it and find yourself weaving in and out of traffic and dodging missiles. The game is intense and fun. The power ups are incredibly fun. I suggest you save your first 500 coins for the magnet. I know you will be tempted to earn another vehicle but hold off and get the magnet. This way you will start drawing coins and power ups. There is also full everyplay integration with a full community as well as the ability to share your scores and when you get new vehicles on Twitter. So social media is covered. I still think more coins need to be placed on the tracks in the game and I hope more tracks are added later. It's an incredibly fun game that I think everyone should try. The devs do care about this game and have been extremely responsive and more than willing to incoporate feedback even if they didn't agree with it. To me that says a lot about a development team. That's why they've earned my money, my respect, and my 5 star rating. It's a good game. Go get it people. It works flawlessly on my iPhone 6 running. iOS 9.3.1 Also you will Looooove the tank power up.
