Awesome graphical map...gives great insight! – Weekend Flyer Review

I plan lots of cross-country flights all over the U.S. and one of the hardest things is being able to get a good picture as departure day arrives as to when will be the most opportune time to make the trip. If you're doing a weekend or a weeks vacation you want to ensure that you can get out of town (or get back home), in a reasonable timeframe. You can delay or move up your trip to beat or avoid the impending weather. While there are plenty of apps that give prognostic charts that will show fronts and areas of precipitation, it's much harder to get an extended range forecast of textual weather. METARs only tell you how it is now. TAFs give you a good textual (and in some apps, graphical) picture of how it will be soon, but it's look-ahead is not very far. That's why when they started using the MOS forecast it was such a good benefit. You get an approximately 3-day window of what the weather will be. The only problem is, if you are planning an x/c flight (maybe Wisconsin to Nevada for instance). You're going to have to view many many MOS forecasts to ensure that the whole route will have the weather you want. That can get very time consuming. But with this app, you can easily grab all of the MOS forecasts, and scroll a slider and literally watch the weather change for what is expected for the next 3 days. As an added benefit you can shade the screen for daytime and nighttime so you can easily see if you need to fly day or night to miss the weather. All in all its a fantastic app. It will not replace your other weather planning apps, but will give you one more really powerful tool in your arsenal that will help a lot in planning your weekend or trip. For weekenders, now you can leave in comfort on Friday knowing you will get home before you have to be back at work Monday morning. Great job on the app!
