Update: Game Left Incomplete – Zombie Invasion Review

*Update* While this game was initially promising, the developer has failed to address the monotony and simplicity that plagues this game after more than two minutes. While the game has leader boards, a visible pause, and multiple difficulties, it does nothing out of the ordinary. There are no other back grounds (enjoy the bit of road your on as that's it) and no other weapons that you won't encounter in those two minutes. So unfortunately, I no longer feel that this game is worth downloading for anyone except those that simply must own every zombie game out there. Zombie Invasion is not the worst zombie shooter out there, but it's far from the best. *End Update* Download this game (I just thought I'd make that clear as people may be confused by the rest of my review). Pretty fun, but there are several areas that eithet need work or would be awesome if they were added (I'm sure others have also covered these). 1. The game needs a visual cue that the game is paused (you know, like a giant neon pause sign or maybe a bloody one). Perhaps it could be tied to an in game menu. *Update* Fixed. Whoopee. 2. A better indicator of having run out of ammo (other than the zombies no longer falling down dead). 3. Perhaps a landscape mode to reduce the number of times your finger covers zombies. You could then place the controls on the sides for swifter access. 4. More zombies. 5. More guns. 6. Different modes of play like pistol only, low health, one where you can move, or a super mode where your overpowered but there are ridiculous numbers of zombies. 7. Difficulty settings (some days we just want to shoot some freaking zombies and have no challenge doing it). *Update* There are now difficulty options, though sadly no overpowered modes. 8. Character selection or editing (because who doesn't like making their own character?). 9. Bosses. Big, ugly brutes that are so tough you hate them with a fiery passion. It would be amazing if some boss fights changed up the view. Maybe bosses could be added to a different mode so that the game would still have the endless zombie waves that we all love. 10. Some indication of how much time is left, whether it's a timer or visual cue via sunlight. 11. Blood. Could have an option to turn it off or change its look (like make it a diiferent color or be something absurd like flowers or confetti). 12. Different locations, does this guy have some sort of attachment to dirt fields or something? 13. Upgrades, as in the ability to purchase upgrades after each day to improve your character (like walls, guns, armor, health, helpers, mines, etc.). Could be added to a separate mode. 14. Visual cue that you've fired your weapon. That's all I've got at present. I'm a big fan of games like this and others like it, so I was (and still am) psyched when I saw it in the app store today. I like the game just fine, these suggestions are just some things that, in my opinion, would make this game a hands down five star game on the iPod if not the best game on it (my current favorite is Atari's Missile Command).
