It's Not an Illusion That I'm Addicted to Danger! – Dangerous Games: Illusionist HD - A Magical Hidden Object Mystery (Full) Review

Warning: There are snakes and critters for those with phobias! This game has illusions and tricks galore! I love a storyline with mystery, suspense, and a villainous magician. Here you are taunted and terrorized by a masked man rumored to be a deceased, former magician champion who was killed in a fire many years earlier. He will follow your every move as he teases you with his menacing tricks and realistic illusions while you explore your diverse surroundings. The graphics are beautiful and clear with many vibrant and rich colors; the artwork/scenes are nicely drawn and are appropriate to the theme including details, such as a rabbit in a hat, knives thrown at a circular board, and card tricks. You get to perform tricks, such as burning roses to get a coin and use elements, such as a magic glove with acid to dissolve a rusty lock. You have several modes of difficulty including the option to customize your settings. The inventory is labeled, interactive, and puzzle-like; you will assemble items. The teleport map gives quick travel and indicates available actions in custom mode; locations are labeled on the map as well. Transition between scenes is smooth; you have directional arrows to guide you. There is no journal, but you pick up plenty of reading materials to keep you informed of the story as you progress. There is a "return" button as well. You have a Tasks tab, which is updated as you progress and a Tricks tab to view info on the collected cards. You can access your map and achievements through the Tasks tab as well. The HOS are fun, varied, and highly interactive. You will find quantities of an item in an interactive way with a side mini puzzle thrown in, such as using the environment to perform actions in a story like setting. You will also find silhouette shapes and put pieces of objects together to complete a whole. The puzzles are varied and fun as well. One type is to swap and match cards by connecting suits on all sides. You also have a storybook type where you put objects into the environment as the narration progresses. You are collecting morphing card tricks in the locations, and they can blend in well in some locations. The extras include a "trick" something, replay of puzzles, and art. I think that the game is very interactive with many side puzzles, and there is a high level of variation on gameplay. Worth the purchase!
