Issues since update – THV 11 Review

When I receive a notification of an alert, I'm given the choice of 'close' or 'open'. Each time I click 'open', the splash screen appears and just stays there. I have to back out and then open the app as I normally would. Something is wrong there. I'd rather not opt out of receiving news notifications. Thanks
