Good free-to-play game – Speed Golf Review

Despite how shallow the gameplay really is, it's addicting gameplay is enough to keep you coming, along with its slick and easily accessible user face. The game is all about making a hole in one on your first shot within 7 seconds (this time limit includes choosing your shot, done by waiting for the right angle and then holding down to determine its power before releasing). Hit the flagpole without touching the ground, get 5 coins and chip in. Don't hit the flag but make it in in more than one bounce, awesome! Fail to do either, your round ends. If anything is handled well (at least on my device), it's the coin system and the ads. The game will randomly choose to award you with a coin gift after playing for so long, and gives options to watch a video before receiving 20 coins. Again, it's possible to rack up coins while playing, making it easier to unlock all 6 stages (each with a twist such as more friction, more bounce, etc.). There are forced ads, but they're image ads that can be closed out of almost instantly. Sadly, the 4 stars is due to a couple of glitches. In the candy land, there is the occasional pop-in and pop-out of various background objects that can be jarring, along with the outline of the ground suddenly being in the foreground of the menu. The worst is it's possible that your ball can hit the hole and the flag at just the right angle that it will bounce out and end up falling through the floor, ruining what otherwise may have been a perfect shot. Other than that, if you're looking for a simple time waster that's fun, short, and addicting, then get this game.
