Content is great; but the app is as lousy as a tail-heavy model. – Airplane News Review

The content (articles, photos, videos) is great; but the app is clunky at best. The app tries to replicate the printed magazine in conjunction with a view that's formatted for easier reading on a mobile device. It would be great if the content was optimized for mobile devices instead of trying to replicate the "printed" and "electronic" versions of the magazine at the same time; sometimes it's better if an app focuses on doing one thing well instead of trying to be all things to all subscribers. Perhaps the best suggestion I can offer for improving the app is to allow the user to set a preferred view (pages or mobile-optimized content) that loads automatically when selecting an issue. The current experience that forces users to the 'Contents' page before displaying either a printed page or mobile-optimized content is confusing. Also, it's confusing that an issue which appears to be downloaded seems to download again when accessing the pages view or content view at a later time (e.g. a day or week after the magazine was originally viewed). One last thing: when I quit the application to do something else and come back the next day, why does it make me start over again at the beginning of the magazine? Again, the content itself is great, but the user experience within the app is lacking - especially compared to other digital magazines that offer a much more refined experience for tablet users, such as PC Magazine, Macworld Magazine, or Time Magazine.
