Good concept, rigged roll mechanics, laggy servers – Game of Thrones Ascent Review

The game concept is fun, its a choose your own adventure text based romp through Westeros which is nice and you can immerse yourself in the story. The devs aren't very responsive to fixing issues unfortunately, you actually have to close out the game and reload it for alliance chat to refresh. The Alliance vs Alliance function doesn't work on ios and there's no fix in sight. The game is pretty laggy to, the loading gears will be a constant presence on your screen. The worst thing to me is the rigged mechanics on the tales though. They give rewards based on your ranking at the end of the event, and during the final day when everyone is scrambling for a better ranking, I lose most of my attacks that I'm an 80% favorite then I get a message that I can recover the renown lost if I pay real money, pretty slimy.
