Love the game but confused – Pengle Mobile Review

I really do love this game but the only thing that I don't understand is how to use the fan part I had 3 of them and I hit it once by accident and it froze my game and I had to go completely out of the game then go back in it to unfreeze it so again I was wanting to know what that fan done and I hit it again and it done the same thing so can someone tell me what that's used for please
