I see someone else figured it out. It took me a little while to realize the connection. I am surprised the story was not cited in the credits. I have played another game based on this story, as well. I must say, this one was a bit more cliche and romanticized, as well as much shorter. The game was interesting, but it just didn't have enough of the surprise-ending factor. Truth be told, anyone who knows anything about mythology, even in passing, could take a wild guess and figure out the antagonist. In addition, the bonus chapter bordered on ridiculous with its happily-ever-after style, given the dark tone of the original story. That being said, I loved the alternate ending. I know it probably upset some people, but it made perfect sense, given the storyline.
