Chock full of treasures – Audiobooks Review

1st, this app has become one of my favorites recently. 2nd, although the recent updates have not been perfect, I find them no where near as bad as some of my fellow reviewers are saying. And some things have improved 3rd, thanks to Project Gutenberg, LibriVox, and this app, so many of these great classics are available free to all. You can still buy editions of some of these books either in hard copy, eBook, & audiobook form (albeit read by professional readers), for big $s. Others, you can't find anywhere except perhaps rare bookstores. I'm sorry, but these are treasures, people: ?TREASURES!? And for a very small expenditure, you get the whole free collection, and for a few dollars more of an upgrade, you get all the "plus" edited versions, without the introductions before each chapter. Not to mention (with the upgrade), the ability to stream the books as well as download them. In the "lite" version, you can only download them. While there're other apps in the app store that utilize this content, and while it is true you can download the audio books from the Librivox website for free, this app is the most convenient, and best way to consume this content. Has the most and best features, compared to the others. And according to the reviews I've read about the others, it seems to be the most consistently working. As well as the most consistently updated. I am an audiobook addict. I have the Audible.com app also. And I love those "premium" books through that app. But these classics are worth a lot more than we pay in this app even if you upgrade to the biggest version. The costs-to-value ratio on this app, is off the scale. And yes, that*is*my opinion. But it's a fairly informed & experienced one. @reviewer who commented on loss of streaming feature: not sure what you're talking about. It still works on my copy after the updates. Finally, to whomever made the comment about the sped up voices: there's a speed control in this version. There are 3 speeds: normal & 2 faster speeds. You probably have it set on a faster speed. It looks a little bit like a speedometer (you might have confused it with the timer, or accidentally pressed it). Play with it, you will be pleasantly surprised.
