The app literally disappeared – The Recipe Box To Go Review

I had just added several favorite recipes to my recipe box app--an app I treasure and use often--and when I saw there was an update available I went for it. Today when I went to open the app I noticed it was no longer there and it's gone, it's not on my device even though in my purchased section it appears as being on the device. I'm not even given the option to download it again, that space on the top right corner of the app appears blank when I view it on the App Store. What in the world happened? And more importantly are my recipes going to remain intact? This is not a free app, so I really hope programmers get their act together to fix this fast.
