I want to love this app, but I can't. – Habitat - Daily Habit Tracker Review

Problems that exist with this app: 1) You can ONLY set a schedule to be assigned a specific day of the week. Real life doesn't work like that. I don't commit to working out every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. I just make a goal of "I'm going to workout a minimum of 60 minutes, four days a week." I can't set that kind of goal on this app. Check out the apps like Habit Tracker and Productivity: you can determine how many times a day you should do something (like take vitamins) or how many times a week or month you want to do something. The flexibility for scheduling is endless. 2) No options for allowing bi-weekly or monthly habits. There are certain things I have to force myself to do (like check in with certain family members on the phone) but only need to do it once or twice a month. There is no option to do that. 3) There is a way to skip a task/habit without being penalized. When you're held to such strict standards, an app that is supposed to be motivating becomes demotivating and discourages you. Let's face it: sometimes you can't reach your goal: Vacations (can't walk the dog 15 minutes every day when you're in another country), or illness (you're not gonna exercise when you have a stomach flu), etc. You should be able to skip a task and at that time, be prompted to explain why and NOT be penalized for it. You either completed a task and keep your streak alive, skip a task for a legitimate reason (as I've explained above) and keep a streak alive, or miss a task entirely and the streak ends. It's that simple. 4) The "honeycomb" screens that show your progress is nice, but there should also be a way to swipe to a calendar view screen. Looking at a trail of dots isn't going to help me establish trends. A monthly view (or at least an option to switch to that view) would be MUCH nicer. Then you can look at trends and recognize that maybe you eat more sweets the days you worked nightshift, or maybe you tend to miss workouts on the days after you didn't meet your goals for minimum hours of sleep. 5) Finally, there needs to be a way to adjust the font size. It's huge and very clumsy/busy looking. The overall design of this app appears to be better than most out there. However, it's not worthy to keep exclusively. Certainly not worth paying for. I'll keep it on my phone and keep an eye for updates, but won't be using it until it's markedly improved. I'm hoping either this app, or Habit List, Habit Streaks, Done, Momentum or Productivity can figure out a way to put all the things a user wants into one app so I can stop waiting and start tracking. I'll just hold onto all these apps and watch for updates until someone gets it right.
