not too shabby – Quarry Driver Parking Game - Real Mining Monster Truck Car Driving Test Park Sim Racing Games Review

not to shabby. I drove one of these rigs like this for about 20 years and was surprised how good some things were. like the "rolling" type ride you get from slowing down or hitting wavy roads, you devs represented that well. The brakes however not so good. the ones I drove were Catepillar and looked very similar to the ones represented in the game, the dump style not the articulated,we could carry about 250 tons of good dirt,so having a rig like this loaded down even cruising along at 45mph on a day a haul road it felt like you were flying. So good brakes were a must, luckily Cat knew this and brakes on their units were superb and could bring you to a full stop very easily,or if your on some fairly steep inclines the.brakes helped you keep your descent in good and safe control, again imperative. So not giving the rigs weak brakes isn't good if your wanting to drive simulator style. It's just an easy way to crash. Also you have target times which there again quick load and dump cycles were the target too in real life, gotta get that production rate high, and not being able to navigate through simple choke points or other minor obstacles wouldn't cut in real world scenarios. So the big problem is having all that unnecessary stuff lying along side of the road or at turnarounds at the load site wouldn't be tolerated. Actually if MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Association) saw a that the MSHA rep would levy some major fines. Our biggest problems were rain, light spotty rain showers could be as hazardous not to mention underwear ruining situations as a down pour,at least you knew it was slick everywhere and you would not come rolling along and boom right in the middle of a sharp turn there would sit a patch of ugly slickness. As big as these rigs are you'd think they wouldn't slide anywhere, wrong, I've seen them do a complete 360 spin on a flat wet patch of road,it would only take a tap on the brakes, especially if the front brakes were just a bit fresher than the back Beast we endured was fog you can imagine what that was like. Anyway good game but don't make it difficult because of poor brakes or crap on the side of the road you may as well had made a VW bus sim.
