How many times do I have to buy this app? – Chess-wise 3 Review

I find the exercises to be very useful. I have 'gone pro' in version 2 for my iPad and iPhone. I upgraded to V.3 on my iPad yesterday. Downloading V.3 for my iPhone this morning and it appears that I will be required to purchase another copy to 'go pro' again. Seriously! I'm not trying to take advantage of the developer. I get that V.3 is a completely new re-write and I am willing to support that. However, I don't believe that I should pay for one more copy when I am only ever going to use one copy at a time.
