Good – Forbidden Romance: The Men of Yoshiwara Review

Top-notch material for you weeaboo lady pervs. I've grown impatient with Voltage and NTT solmare's crappy confusing user interfaces that convolute the actual visual novel with annoying, seemingly pointless mini games and side quests and avatar dress-ups and requests for purchasing more "stamina" or whatever, so I downloaded this game specifically with the hopes of avoiding all of that nonsense and I wasn't disappointed. You do have to pay for stories, but you get to read one chapter of each character for free so you can make an informed choice. The price seemed fair as the stories are thoughtful and well translated, and they've actually included subtle animations. Instead of static images, the characters fidget and move their mouths as they speak to you— I thought this was a really nice touch. The premise of this game is quite unique and significantly more risqué than most of these games; you, a merchant's daughter living in some implacable historical time period, chooses from a selection of "courtesans" who are essentially gender bent geishas trained to please women. Your character ultimately tries to buy their chosen courtesan's freedom from their brothel. Doesn't beat around the bush about sex scenes with clumsy idioms like other otome games. Pretty dope.
