Inspiring and well thought out – midiSequencer Review

This app gets better and better. Its design is shaped by real musical experience, and it's quickly evolving into one of the best sequencers on the iOS platform. It's far more powerful and easier to use than the hardware sequencers used by Tangerine Dream in the 1970s and 80s. Compared with modern, software-based sequencers, it's slightly less powerful than Thesys, but also MUCH easier to get started and play with. As it says in the description, it doesn't make any sound by itself, but it will breathe new life into the instruments you already have, both hardware and on your iPad. About the in-app purchases (IAPs): the developer, Anthony Saunders, is NOT trying to nickel and dime his customers. If you're interested in the extra functions, they are worth more than what he's charging. But the basic app is robust, functional, and inspiring. About the four stars: I'm pleased with this app -- that's why I'm taking the time to write a review -- but if you give everything five stars, you have nothing left for the very best. (I see the same problem after musical and theatrical performances, when everything gets a standing ovation.)
