Finally, a modern iOS app for Internet radio! – Radio FM Review

I bought this app on a whim. I was looking for a way to check in on my network's live stream. After much searching (and deleting many of the apps I downloaded, because the design was less than stellar), I came across this wonderful little application. It's elegantly designed, well maintained, and frankly, the best application for Internet radio on iOS that I've found yet. While I don't use the directory, I've happily added several favorites, which makes it easy to tune in when I want to listen. There are a few flaws: when the app is backgrounded, and resumed, it occasionally loses audio and you'll need to reconnect (I'm sure the developer is already on this, so don't let it deter you from downloading.) Second, the design could use some polish to match better with iOS, but again, it's still the best when compared with other applications. The directory could also be improved to show stations that are localized to my location -- but that's a minor tweak. If pretty artwork is your thing, also know you'll need to purchase the capability to see additional metadata about your current stream from inside the app. I think it's a buck, but that functionality could easily be built in. All in all, it's a great purchase - worthy of five stars. I'm sure it will improve as time goes on as well.
