It doesn't record my voice – VoiceJam: Vocal Looper - Sing, Loop, Share Review

I've tried everything possible, every setting, even deleting the app and re installing it, even have gone as far as to buy an earbud with a microphone attached. It doesn't work at all and it never records my voice. I also have other applications that do work and I can even record video regularly so I don't see what the problem is. I have an ipad 2 so it should be compatible. Please help or give me my $6.99 back.
