Superb concept, broken by greed – Legend of HeroesXIII Review

The story is quite deep, rich and involved, so points for that. The art is quite nice, and the design works well (although a bit slow to transition from page to page). It would easily get 5 stars if they wouldn't use the two worst gimmicks in today's app games : overpriced purchasing of in-game currency, and the awful energy depletion. To purchase cards, you would have to spend over $5(us) PER CARD, and you still have no idea what value/type cards you'll end up with. The energy takes a new and confusing twist, as it reduces the strength of a card as it dwindles down (the rate is unknown, but I lost 30+ with just 7 battles). Once the card is below 50, it becomes unable to fight (why 50? Why not zero?).
