IMPORTANT: This is not a “shopping app”! It’s just about scanning many different kinds of barcodes and creating links based on the data.
Using this app you can:
• Scan many different barcode formats: EAN-13/UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, Code 128, Code 93, Code 39, Interleaved 2 of 5, DataBar, DataBar Expanded and QR Code.
• Search for products using Google, Amazon and the Internet UPC Database
• ...or define your own searches.
• Scan QR codes containing URLs and link directly to the web site.
• Scan QR codes containing an E-mail address and send mail.
• Scan tracking numbers and track packages with UPS and FedEx.
• Maintain lists of scanned barcodes.
• Send an E-mail with a list of barcodes attached as a CSV spreadsheet.
• Cut and paste barcode data into other apps.
Tips:
• Avoid glare; try to keep the lighting uniform across the barcode.
• Re-orient or shake the camera if it doesn't want to autofocus.
• Rotate to landscape for scanning longer codes (such as tracking numbers).

This is an awesome app. Works great with the iphone 4. Not only for product lookup via web, but for generic SKUs that you just need to decypher.

Reads bar codes with no problems. Simple to use. Works as claimed. For the first few shots, I had to get used to it, but with a little practice, very easy and reliable. Open source and so free as in freedom not just free beer. I hope others build on it.

Needs needs NEEDS Datamatrix, MicroQR, Aztec, PDF417, and MaxiCode. Not as crucial but ShotCode and High Capacity Colour Barcode would make this one versatile app. Essentially I want to scan every 1D and 2D under the sun.
Replaces complicated single-use scanner

I use this app at work to scan asset tags. It works really well and replaces the complicated scanner that only scans one type of barcode. I don't know why this app only has two stars. It definitely makes my life easier.
Free, and it reads non-ISBN codes too

I tried a bunch of scanners, but this is the first that would read non-ISBN/UPC 2D barcodes. It reads FedEx labels, at least!

My only complaint with this app is that you have to back out to the main menu and go back into the barcode before the links load. I use this app all the time to get info on fedex and ups packages. Scans quickly, easily and accurately.
