Not the Best

Logynn

I am a yoga teacher and I bought this app mainly to help me learn some of the more difficult Sanskrit names for certain poses. So far, I have seen a few things that are inaccurate. One such example is the Virabradrasana II pose which is listed here as Danurasana. They list 3 different poses with this same name and it is not accurate at all. Also, the photo showing Virabradrasana I looks like Crescent Lunge pose to me. It is the little discrepancies that take away from this app. I have not used it to create a yoga practice, so I can't really comment on that part.

Good but........

Mdaz75

It's difficult to make out the exact body positions.........use a real person for pose demonstrations!!!

what?

I am surprised how disappointed I am with this app. It's only $.99 but I expected a bit more. First I was surprised that there are only 35 poses. The screenshot of asanas, that's it! I start checking out the asanas and the second asana is wrong, they're describing it as "Warrior I : Virabhadrasana I but it's actually crescent moon, at least by their directions and the picture. I know this app isn't for me at this point but I move onto the third pose, described as "Warrior II : Dhanurasana" which is a contradiction in terms. Warrior II is virabhadrasana II and dhanurasana is something completely different. I can accept the limited asanas for $.99 but get the information right. I don't know what happened in the production of this app but it's not even worth $.99.

Terrible.

I have never felt the need to review an app before now. This app is pretty useless especially for a yoga newbie and a novice alike. There is no warm up to the sessions and it does not flow. The instructor is very boring and does not help the student in their poses. Or encourage breathing which is the most important part of yoga. Spend the extra two dollars and get pocket yoga. If you really want a yoga app that will help you with your practice that is the perfect one.

Pretty Good, Could Be Better

This looks like the best yoga app available. I'm glad I purchased this one first, because as I peruse the others, I'm not tempted to buy. My favorite parts of this app: 1) Allows me to develop my own yoga routines. 2) The model is in silhouette (makes it wonderfully race-neutral). 3) I can use my own music (my faves are "The Lama's Chants" and "Splendor of Meditation: Most Relaxing Classical Indian Music"). 4) Great selection of poses. However, these little tweaks would make it perfect: 1) ADD A LUNGE POSE 2) ADD INSTRUCTOR'S ANNOUNCEMENT OF "PLANK" POSE!!! - I always miss this pose because the instructor doesn't announce it like she does the other poses. 3) Get a more mellow-voiced instructor - Someone who sounds like Eckhart Tolle would really set the right tone. 4) Allow independent adjustment of instructor voice and music - So I can make instructor's voice a little louder and music a little softer, or vice versa 5) Allow deletion of any pose in a customized routine - Not just the last one added 6) Separate (R)/(L) versions, or just leave them side-neutral - I like to go from triangle to warrior on the right before shifting to triangle on the left. Y'know? These would make it perfect. Even make it worth an extra dollar or two. Thanks!

Great Yoga App!

Would be really cool to be able to swipe from pose to pose instead of having to go back every time I want to change poses. Looking forward for the strength version for getting missing poses such as Chaturanga. Good job!

Great app - better on iPad!

This app is great for travel - I love 'build your own workout' so I can still get in 20 minutes of the poses that make my day start off right. Use your own music or enjoy the very relaxing choices that come with the app. Wish list...show names of poses on the pictures to make them easier to select, give me the ability to move the poses up or down in the custom workout without having to delete from the bottom up. Otherwise - excellent and a super buy for .99!!

Perfect 4 Beginner

Well done

I really think this is a well done app. I love the portability of a yoga routine! I like the music options and my own music option as well. Wish there were more preloaded sessions though. Also wish I could move around pose orders once I select them. More poses? Other than that, great! Well worth .99!

Don´t waste your time.

For a paid APP, that just show some plain images and play some audio, it´s just very very BUGGY. Crashes a lot. For something it should help you relax, it just stress your day. For instance, try to set for an hour of exercises, you´ll realize it just don´t set. Another thing very stupid, in some poses when you have to stretch right and left sides individually, you´ll realize Yoga Stretch don´t make them equal time. In some, you stay 2 minutes in a position for left, and for the right just 30 seconds. What about the black shadow body shapes, in some poses, you can´t figure out where´s the leg stays, the arm. Oh hell. I´ll buy another app.
