This has the trappings of lean and mean sequencing machine and I like that. The one contention I have is how to set the loop points...could the developer please make it just a simple use your finger, touch the timeline above, and drop to where you want? Oh yeah, on top of that, user determined looping resolution within this context. For instance:take my finger and just touch the timeline at, say, bar 2.3 move my finger along and stop at 3.1 Wa La: now the loop points are set from 2.3-3.1 and the playback follows suit. If this happens I will certainly buy the full version. Thanks and Cheers!

Buy this. This sequencer does what others don't. I paired this with Korg Gadget and now have everything I need to make iOS music. Most other iOS DAW software has one fatal flaw: the sequencer. Enter Xequence. This works like a desktop DAW, and integrates with just about any software you can imagine, giving you the freedom to create music as you go, rather than trying to learn the quirks of your app. Read the manual and learn how to turn your iPad into a music creation operating system. AUM and Audiobus combine to give you options that FINALLY allow you to use all your apps to full advantage. Spend the bucks and buy the in app purchase of unlimited tracks. Easy, sensible and powerful, worth every penny.

Amazing gets updated

So smart, and beautiful too

Excellent midi-only sequencer!

Stop right here if you don’t understand that this is a midi sequencer. It sends notes and parameters to other apps, but DOESN’T MAKE ANY SOUND OF ITS OWN. What it does do is a fantastic job of letting you record and “draw in” notes and other values to send to other apps. It’s rock solid, focused, and elegantly executed. The developer is committed and very, very responsive. Nothing touches it, on the iPhone at least, for midi sequencing in a timeline based layout. Even on the iPad where I have other sequencers and DAWs I find myself reaching for Xequence because of its lightness and its single-purpose focus, which I find I prefer over the bigger boys that try to be everything and end up having various shortcomings. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a MIDI composition tool that is timeline based and is a universal app. [Edit 2018-01-04] The developer just added midi import and export among other things! I haven’t tried export yet, but midi import is more solid than any iOS app I’ve worked with. There’s a fantastic “global clipboard” now also that makes it a breeze to copy things between parts and even projects. This is sooo useful! Thanks for the terrific update.

One of the most responsive developers

Twice in the past year or two I had a bug. Both times the app was ready with an update the next day resolving everything.

Great all across the board.

First of all this developer has a great attitude and super fast response time. I wish more would follow his lead. This is a fantastic midi sequencer and I can’t wait to see where it goes. 5 stars.

Awesome workstation

With midi import export implemented this is my favorite workstation. Stable, easy to use. I do wish however we could grab midi files directly from drive or Dropbox, it’s been very frustrating trying to bounce midi files all the way to the device itself sometimes at the end of the process they are greyed out in the files ap so I can’t copy them to xequence folder. So please just let us import from Dropbox soon.

Took me too long to find this GEM

go to google and search site:audiob.us Xequence for details , as it’s already all been said before. But as somebody who was surprised by the ios learning curve, once I had a basic understanding and a lot of cool synths , plus AUM , i was mostly disappointed because I expected AUM to be what xequence actually is. Xequence completely opened up a whole new world of music production and unless I get hit by a bus or some freak accident I will be enjoying this app for a long time. Korg gadget was my go-to and if you ever find yourself with all gadget songs sounding like gadget songs , frustrated , and knowing there is a better way, Xequence is de way. Surprisingly simply and I love how selecting a group of notes to move up or down highlights to the first note. It isn’t possible to hype this app up enough.
