Tokyo Game Show "Best Indie" Nominee, created by former developers of SEGA, Square Enix and Capcom, X-Tactics ("Cross-Tactics") is a GPS-based episodic RPG with new stories each week. In a world, similar to our own, but one where top-secret government agencies and secret societies, maintain the peace and world order by manipulating the truth, news and history.
As the player, you are in charge of the X-12, one of the most influential secret organisations in the world, commanding a ragtag cast of secret agents, adventurers, and treasure hunters, dedicated to maintaining world order through suppression and control of the truth.
The gameplay blends traditional turn-based tactics with a bit of fighting game combat mechanics for a fresh take on the genre, placing player skill and tactical sense as key for Victory. It is also unique in it's use of GPS and local weather conditions to affect tactics, skills, and also to unlock secret treasures, and side quests, as you delve into missions of urban exploration to protect your hometown.

= NEW CONTENT & PURCHASES =
Our goal is to reward player engagement by allowing a large majority of content in X-Tactics to be accessed for FREE by simply playing the game! Accessing special missions, character upgrades, boosts, and items is done by buying them using the in-game Cash, earned primarily by defending your town through GPS missions. We also constantly add new Agent characters. Please note however that all Characters are fairly balanced against each other, X-Tactics is not pay 2 win. Each new agent brings new combat mechanics to the table, and comes with their own unique missions and storylines. To purchase new agents we now use the X-Coin system, which allows players to pay to directly unlock new Agents anytime, or to play until they accumulate enough X-Coins to unlock the Agents for free. Purchasing X-Coin will remove ads and help us keep adding new content for everyone on a weekly basis.

The future of GPS strategy mmo

What Google did with Ingress and Parallel Kingdom to start a Mobile genre, X-Tactics expands on with team based tactical battles and visual displays. I have only begun to play but I can easily see TSG fans enjoying this gem. The characters are anime-esque but the theme is something out of the X-files with conspiracy coverups. Battles consist of match 4 types of medals into sequence to activate a skill but if you drag over an enemy defense you lose your entire turn. Which adds a great sense of "do i risk the bonus at the cost of losing my turn." Also instead of just losing a turn because your movement isnt far enough, they added assist boost and self boost to end your turn; creating a support system inherent in the battle/movement system. Overall great game.

EDIT: so as soon as I saw the update I updated and played a regular mission and 2 gps missions. STILL you cannot win cash from missions, either one. Also now the gps missions have completely locked my team so I can only use one agent that I didn't choose against 4 of another players or any amount of other computer monsters. I assume they increased the amount of cash you get if you watch an ad which is random only on win. So upgrading agency's or buying items is still unattainable. Also I must not be included in the people that contacted them on Twitter because I left a negative review. I said I would change it if they fixed it. But as is it's like saying here play our game but you don't get to upgrade your agency or buy items. I will still change this if cash is made obtainable. Old review: First this game is well done and looks great. And that's the good part. So I had an issue buying the starter pack, at the time it said 500k cash and 100orb things. It only gave me 250k and 30 orbs. So I tried to contact them and they only give you their website, FB and Twitter. I tried through they're website from my iPad my phone and a computer but it was broken and wouldn't allow contact. I did get someone to answer on Twitter and after 2-3 days they resolved it and gave me 100 more orbs. So I ended up down 250k but up 30 orbs. So I've been playing for a few days after this and notice I'm not getting the cash currency. You need it to upgrade your agency, buy items and play special missions which are 10k+. So I'm back on Twitter and they send me to the website apparently they don't have an explanation how to earn cash in the game. It lists off 5 ways to earn cash a few were buy it, complete missions, do gps missions... I'm like oh poo I've done all that. I have not earned a single dollar from missions. So they say we're going to have an update on Thursday. But really what it was was new missions not really an update and I find that out late Friday night. I sent a DM on Twitter when it's almost Saturday cause nothing showed up in the App Store. And that's why I didn't see it is because they just "updated" some missions. Now they're saying you get lots of cash from gps secret tape missions. So I play a normal mission no reward(just to see) then I play a gps mission taking a photo of the the gps screen, the team screen and the victory screen. NO CASH. Then I'm like I found a "secret" video and after that screen it asks me if I want to watch it for $500. I'm sorry but if special missions are 10k+ then 500$ is NOT a lot of cash especially when you have to watch a video to get it. So without paying money or grinding out ads there is no way to upgrade your agency, buy items or play special missions. This is a game for whales.

The game brings gps and weather elements into a strategic fun game. The IAP elements are does not hinder gameplay, but more of a tip to the devs, which is a great system.

Think Final Fantasy tactics with GPS and weather elements implemented into the story and strategy. it truly reminds me of RPG's that put a lot of effort and work into both story and gameplay equally. A great game that you can pick up do a few missions and put down while on the go I highly recommend it to anybody that likes turn-based strategy or anyone who enjoyed Final Fantasy tactics. also all anime fans will enjoy this game as it has great animation storyline and original characters. So worth, Best couple of bucks I ever spent.

Have had the game a couple of days now and so far it is fantastic! The game has character leveling like an RPG, the tactics of an RTS, and some matching/pattern elements to pull off attacks like a puzzle or fighting game. The battles are turn based with some active response needed to time counters correctly and maximize attack strength. I haven't gotten far enough to rate the story/dialogue but the gameplay is great, leveling is addicting, there are items and loot. There are IAP but not pay to play or pay to win, just to unlock some extra characters. Daily challenges and location based challenges keep things fresh as well. Give it a shot you won't be disappointed and add me ID:1117442
