X-Anatomy is a transaxial cross-sectional human anatomy interactive medical imaging atlas using CT images, designed for medical professionals & all students of anatomy.

X-Anatomy is developed and maintained by board-certified physicians who were unsatisfied with the inadequacy of the existing anatomy apps and books with lack of clinically relevant detail or poor interface.

We created X-Anatomy to use for ourselves, tested and used in clinical practice and as an interactive learning resource. Therefore, we developed and maintain these features:
• Includes hundreds of images from actual human patient body scans.
• Detailed anatomic notes about muscles, vessels, and key anatomic structures
• Includes lymph node stations for neck cancers (AJR), breast cancers (AJCC), lung cancers (IASLC) used by surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, etc. Includes liver segment (Couinaud) classifications.
• Complete color-coded index of anatomic structures
• FOLLOW the positions and pathways of your selected anatomic structures automatically as you SCROLL through the image slices.
• Use the intuitive BODY LOCALIZER to show you where you are as you scroll through the body, as well as the general region of the anatomic structure

INCLUDED body section modules cover the major body sections from head to pelvis: CT Brain, CT Neck, CT Sinuses, CT Chest, CT Lungs, CT Abdomen & Male Pelvis, CT Abdomen & Female Pelvis.

Who uses X-Anatomy? We have received reports from people all over the world, including:
• Physicians and residents of all specialties, including radiologists, nuclear medicine, radiation oncologists, surgeons, neurologists, gastroenterologists, primary care, physical rehabilitation, etc., all physicians whose patients need CT scans.
• Medical students and pre-medical students
• Imaging technologists and students (x-ray/CT/PET/MRI)
• Nurses and nursing students, nurse practitioners, physician assistants
• Physical therapists and students
• Chiropractors and students
• All health care personnel
• Biomedical-related scientists and researchers who need a cross sectional human anatomy reference
• Anyone interested in learning about the human body or has had a CT scan of themselves and has taken home a copy of the images.

Best App ever
Johhny come lately

I have tried other apps but this one gets job done. I love the zoom in/out feature. I cannot wait for the next release.

Advert Misleads
Micheal Padraig

Although this is billed as a quick and "comprehensive" CT reference it is certainly not comprehensive --- Once installed, "additional modules" are available – $9.99 each -- lung windows, female, etc. That said, the design is elegant. Unfortunately on iTunes there is no "try it before you buy it." Perhaps the authors are counting on that feature for their commercial success.

Educational and fun
NiblickChick

This is a lot of fun just exploring and learning the human body for hours. It's easy to figure out. Let your kids play with this, you might just get them interested in being a doctor someday.

How to make a great App Better...
DrEraj

The X-anatomy app is an important imaging tool that I have used on my Iphone to teach patients, med students, and residents about cross sectional anatomy. Adding Ipad functionality is a huge plus. Now, the ability to search structure, zoom, and scroll up and down slices is even easier. This is a must for those wishing to bring a greater level of understanding to the words on a CT report. I use this app almost every day and recommend it as my CT atlas of choice. Improvements to the UI and addition of structure facts are a great help. I look forward to adding the modules when they become available. Thank you Dr. Isidoro for this quality application.

Very well done
SB951

Continues to get better and better. Wish I had something like this when I was in residency.

Beware
Bangin dubstepper

I was very disappointed when I opened the app to find out I had to purchase most of the modules separately. Looking back, it is in the fine print, which makes it my fault. However, I would expect a medical app to be above trying to hide this little detail, particularly when the images shown in the description are of the modules you have to purchase separately. There are better, more complete CT anatomy apps available without making you feel like you have been duped. As for the modules I did get, I haven't bothered to look at them, they just make me mad.

Rip off
nanasandy

I didnt read the reviews my mistake. I didn't realize each section of anatomy had to be purchased separate. I got another app for $9.99 that included all anatomy.

Pretty good
Gighkkkgfhjkh

I love the set up and explanation of each part but more anatomy needs to be included. Where are the extremities??? Otherwise it's great. I love the can scroll through slices like in PACS. very very helpful.........new xpro is very nice. It partially upsets me that it all became free after I paid for them all but what can you do.

Gives me detail that I need
meclizine50mg

No fluff. Targeted for professionals.

As a radiologist for 40 years...
RoentgenDoc

…this is the most useful and intelligent of the anatomy apps. Visually appealing, simulates reading a scan on PACS best. Even after all these years of reading scans, sometimes you just need to reference a muscle or show normal anatomy.
