Great but needs work

LBandBear

I really like this game, but have gotten really frustrated with a few things: *can't find a way to exit a game early without closing the app altogether. Why isn't there just a "back" or "quit" button? Even if I just pick the wrong game accidentally then I either have to close the app and rand load or play the game to completion *Buddy mode is absurdly hard for something that you have to play in one sitting. You can't even pause for a minute because if your device goes to sleep then it will end the game. There either needs to be timed games available, or be something where you can take turns whenever you want. This may be how Challenge mode works, but I don't know cause I don't want to play with strangers, I can't just add a friend's username like you can in most games, and it doesn't remember my "buddies". It says you can play with friends, but how?? *Buddy mode is also faulty, it takes us a few tries of closing and restarting the app for it to recognize both devices and connect us. *Where did daily challenges go? I may just be missing something here but I played it once two days ago, really like it, and now it's gone. Shouldn't there be new ones daily if they are called daily challenges? Anyway. The rest of the game is great, but I was really disappointed I couldn't play with friends.

Great game for word lovers

Krux21

I love this game because it is challenging and you can decide if you want it timed. However, a few words were not words at all, i.e., vxxxii. No word can be made in the English language with those letters! Please fix.

Game fun, faulty buddy

Ian947

Fun game! Except whenever I try to play with my girlfriend the buddy system doesn't work. We are literally sitting next to each other on the same wifi and no one else is showing up. We have only been able to play with each other once but that seems to have been chance.

Great word game!

Goldenhair96

Once you get past the tutorial, it's a great collection of word games all in one app.

Only one big negative...

Jj29381

Amazing game, however it misses a huge opportunity by not telling the answers after you lose a level. If I didn't know the word to win the round, I'll never learn it. Without that, it's all memory and no learning. Add the answers of missed words at the end (bonus points for a definition, too) and I'd easily change my rating to a 5

Great game with 2 big issues

kwhite9266

Wordlings was exactly what I was looking for, particularly the Linker game, where I can just find words and rack up points. But 2 big issues keep me from really loving it. First, the battery usage is through the roof. This will absolutely kill my charge, for no obvious reason. Really needs to be looked at and reined in. A word game shouldn't take out 10% of your battery in a matter of a few minutes. Second, the game loses track of you very easily. Sometimes it takes me a while to find 150 words in a puzzle. (Crazy, no?) I'll find a bunch, take a break, and when I come back the app has reset and I lost my game. Very annoying. This isn't an hour later, sometimes it's 5-10 minutes. We need a save progress so I can keep playing even if I need to put my phone down for a bit. Constructive criticism, I hope. Really one of my favorite iOS games, and I have no intention of deleting it. Those 2 flaws are the only major ones for me. Fix those and we are golden.

Good game with BIG problem

Maiasatara

I really like this game but the BIG problem - game doesn't keep my progress when I increase Mastery Level. I had maxed out at five stars in every game yesterday. This morning, only one showed 5 stars the rest had fallen back to 3 overnight. It keeps the score increase, though. It doesn't give me a new mastery rank for every round played so I'm REALLY frustrated when ranks just get taken away after I worked quite a while playing every combination to make it happen. Second - I wish the game unscrambled words I choose to pass on. How will I know for next time? I don't want to be that person who plays with an anagrammer program running. That's not playing; that's cheating. Otherwise it's quite fun, you randomize so you don't make me wait an hour after I play five times. (Please never do that.) Lots of ads (even for a free game) and I'd like to see more hint tickets in the spinner. None since day 1. Some of those 10 letter words are rough and I prefer to use hints rather than quit a round. (See previous opinion on cheating.)

Has Potential

Kiyytgh

This has potential but doesn't quite make it. It's slow to open and eats up battery. There is no way to "learn" built in. I always turn it off after one game because of the ads and machinations.

Major Issues No Customer Support

Wrhodes35

Love the game but App has some major problems. Been playing for a few months when all of a sudden while playing my iPhone 7 went blank. I rebooted my iPhone but my Wordlings App was gone. I reloaded the App but it does not recognize me. I've tried to contact CS but can't find how to contact them. I'm not starting over from scratch since I was at power-up 10 and higher on most Wordlings.

Crashes a lot on big scoring rounds

azheimoren

I play this game A LOT, which is why I initially gave it the 3-star rating. I would have given more stars except the app almost always crashes when I have a really high-scoring round in Linker. Recently, I've noticed my scores keep dropping even though my Wordlings are increasing. It seems like the developer is attempting to combat the crash that inevitably occurs on high-scoring games. In reality, it's infuriating because it feels like he's just broken the game's ability to add. I'd have reduced the game to ZERO stars if possible at this point b/c it doesn't look like the developer has any clue how to fix the problems with this game. Also-- The ability to play this game on multiple devices without starting over from scratch is STILL not available. This is REALLY frustrating for anyone who gets a new iPad and wants to keep playing.
