First and foremost the art/animation for this game is gorgeous. And the programming to make it all flow so good must be top notch! Glad to have this in my digital collection! Plus how you can swap back and forth from retro to modern is awesome! Worth the buy for sure, thanks for an awesome game!
Game appears to be in French

The menus appear to be French (might be Spanish for some reason. My phone is localized in English. Is there a way to fix this?
Game Center freezes iPhone 7

As a Nintendo kid, I never knew about this series. But, the game is great and the remake beautiful. One star though because the game freezes on a fully updated iPhone 7 when using Game Center. Specifically, the game freezes when the GC welcome back message drops down, making the game unplayable. I did play the game with an iPad Pro logging in to GC and there was no issue. The problem only seems to be present on the phone. Fix this and it’s a 5-star review for sure.
Wonderful, yet deeply flawed

I have fond memories of playing the original title and greatly appreciate this redux. The visuals and sound have been masterfully brought into the modern age, while the structure of the game has been left intact. Yet, there are problems holding this release back that hopefully will be addressed in future updates. 1). Using items occasionally sets the graphics to retro mode. This is hardly game breaking and is easily fixed in the menu. But, it is jarring. 2). The controls are imprecise and take some getting used to. Performing jump attacks can be tricky as, many times, the attack button won’t engage. I’ve actually taken my eye off the screen to check my thumb placement. Despite hitting the attack button dead center, it didn’t register. 3). There are crash bugs littered throughout the game. When these are activated, the game not only force closes. It then prevents you from restarting, by freezing on the title screen—forcing you to uninstall then reinstall the app. The most prevalent crash bug occurs after the defeat of the Mummy Dragon but before facing the Zombie Dragon. At this point, if you venture into the volcanic region, the game crashes. Checked this out three times, to the same result. Have also experienced crash issues with employing the return to title screen option in the menu. But those haven’t been as consistent and easy to demonstrate as the aforementioned one. If Wonderboy III: The Dragon’s Trap is to stand out on iOS, these issues need to be fixed. It’s more frustrating than fun to play a title that’s hard to control and can crash at any given moment. This was played on an iPhone 6S, running the latest version of iOS. Will amend this review when these problems are resolved.

Pretty fun game, I like how I can resize the buttons to make it how I want them, great gameplay, Looks amazing, but I was in the middle of the desert and it randomly switched to retro visuals,It did this again to whenever I went to the store to buy weapons I don’t know how to fix this bug and it’s really inconvenient

Haven’t seen controls this bad since the first few years of the App Store. I cant beat Boss 1 on Level 1 because the game hangs. Check out the other reviews - they have the same problem.

Updated Review: The devs were nice enough to update the controls with more customization, and it plays a lot better now. I’m happy with it. 5 stars. Old Review: The graphics are fantastic, but the controls are the worst I’ve played. If you don’t hit the buttons dead center, they don’t seem to respond, and when you do hit them, it feels delayed. Maybe that’s just how the old game played, I’m not sure. It would be easier and more fun to play if you could tap anywhere on the left of the screen and drag to move. Also if the buttons hit boxes were bigger. It would also be cool to switch from retro to HD while playing, instead of having to go through all the menus.
Incredible remake of a classic but the mobile version freezes a lot!

This game is awesome, but once I complete the game, it freezes on launch every time. The only way to play it again on my devices is to uninstall it completely then reinstall, losing all my progress and achievements. Please fix this!
Classic Remake with Greater Style

I never heard of the Wonder Boy game series until now. The new art style is what first drew my attention. After getting use to the somewhat old school game mechanics, I quickly fell in love with this game. I love the option of being various creatures with slightly different playing styles. I almost competed everything in the game but unfortunately now it keeps crashing. Hopefully a new UPDATE will fix the issues.
