Indispensable App

DawnDeer7

Love this app for tracking wines I've tried, as well as for predicting which wines I'll like in the future. Takes some of the guessing out of buying wines. I also love that you can compare two people's profiles, so I see how much my husband and I will like the wines, side by side.

Comprehensive and Practical

Best wine app I've found! It learns your particular tastes and shows predictive ratings, according to your wine profile. Additionally, they have tasting notes and tech sheets for almost every wine in their library.

Makes restaurant wine orders safer

It's really nice to order a pricier wine at a restaurant with more confidence based on taste history.

Exactly what I needed

One of the most perfect apps I have ever used on my phone. Further, the developers have told me that they plan to update it to work with the next updated iOS. Most wines are in the database, and predictions are fairly accurate. The coolest feature is that you can synchronize with a friend (my spouse) so we can see each other's predictions if we're shopping for wine alone. So convenient.

Great, but outdated.

This app is great, I like it better than others out there because it predicts not only whether I'll like a wine, but whether my friends who have the app will like it as well. Unfortunately since some of the other apps are more recent with more easy-to-use features, like just snapping a pic instead of typing in a wine name...my friends are flocking to use those and that makes one of my favorite features nearly moot.

Best wine app!

I have had this app for several years and have tried over 250 wines. I love keeping track of what I have tried and seeing how my palate has changed over the years. The app is an excellent predictor of what I'll like (and what I won't). It doesn't usually have local wineries in it, but once I add a wine it's in the app within a couple days. I also love that I can easily add my boyfriend's or best friend's rating as well to keep track of what they like.

Great app

I love this app!! It's a great way to keep track of the wines I like and it's the only app I can find that predicts if you will like a wine or not. And the predictions are usually pretty close. I also like that I can look up profiles for others using the app so I can see what their predictions are as well.

Love this app!

Helped make my wife and I wine lovers. We use it at restaurants and the wine shop.

So many possibilities for this app!

I’ve had this app for years and was excited to see the developers have put some recent work into it because I thought it had been abandoned. People like me NEED this app. Unfortunately, I developed a taste for wine right around the time wine became “popular”. So I have well-meaning friends recommending me wine all the time! Like... “Yellow Tail makes good wines!” “I had this wine by Barefoot last week...” “Darling, you simply MUST try a good rosé!” “Meiomi Pinot Noir is like...universally loved.” No. No, it’s not. In fact, I have poured not one, but two bottles down my kitchen sink after deciding to give it a second chance since EVERYONE loved it. I don’t. It’s highly undrinkable to my palate. No offense. So maybe I’m a 2nd class wine snob, but going with what everyone else likes - which seems to be alcoholic sugar water - just wasn’t doing the trick. The thing Wine Quest gets right is that wines are HIGHLY based on personal taste so requests from friends are best taken based on the types, varieties, price points, etc. that friends with SIMILAR tastes drink...If you are lucky enough to have friends with similar tastes. Wine Quest has the potential to be AMAZING - It just needs more people using it and more recommendations. It may also help to provide more of an education, as well, to help people determine WHY they like certain wines over others (I am still figuring this out!). This involves a lot of research, though, finding out what distinct flavors are in different wines (blackberry, cherry, leather, tobacco, cola, oak, earth, chocolate, etc.) and then creating a database classifying each wine in accordance. And algorithms to figure out what flavors (and flavors combined) make you double pour, what makes you sip with a wrinkled nose and what has you binning the whole bottle. I’m rating this proactively because they built the platform...and now the people just need to come! Especially drinkers of dry reds who can help me from spending an hour walking around staring at labels indecisively. I need you people in my life. And this app. Raising a glass to future development and many more happy ratings! Thanks for creating and continued work on this app! I’ll start using it again. ?

Love App

I love this app but when I changed phones my ratings didn’t transfer
