Testimonials from people using Wine Notes

Wonderful
“It’s perfect for wine lovers. I’m really happy that I found this app!!! It’s very detailed so I can write down everything I felt.” - Cinedone

Highly recommended

“I’m a newbie when it comes to wines. I mostly wanted an app to catalogue what wines I liked. I love the “cloud” sync capability of syncing my database online. I had to get a new phone once, logged in and synced ... Everything was back in the app! Well done!” - microChasm

Great wine app!!
“Best dang wine app out there for the iPhone. Period.” - VC79

Excellent

“A great app. It’s taking my wine experience to the next level. I’m finally keeping tasting notes with this app, since it’s so easy, and pretty fun. The photos of flavor similarities (an optional entry for each wine profile) have been surprisingly helpful in my tasting.” - X45$7

No longer works

Wine Notes WAS the best iPhone app for keeping tasting notes, until its developer(s) abandoned it. It no longer works, as several other reviews have noted. I’ll probably have to resort to Evernote. But if they ever revived it, I’d be back in a heartbeat.

Good app for tracking but needs a few things
KaeKal

I’m not a sophisticated wine drinker, but I do want to keep track of the things I like and the things I don’t wanna buy again! I find that it doesn’t let me select my colors well. Deep buttery Chardonnay color can’t be created with the color mixer. I can’t sort by my ratings either. Those are the only two things I find challenging. Overall, it is been a good app for me for the last couple of years.

Great while it worked

This was my favorite app of all time until I upgraded to the latest iPhone XS then - nothing. Can’t retrieve any of my saved wines or even log into my account using Facebook or any other means. Apparently the developers have abandoned this app as the latest update to it was two years ago. This is really disappointing because I had a ton of wines saved with notes about my likes and dislikes etc...and this app kept me from possibly rebuying wines I’d already tried and did not like. Would not recommend this app due to lack of service at this time from the developers.

Useless
Greenmaiden

I couldn’t figure it out, and I’m usually pretty tech savvy. Also the selection for Zinfandel was hidden and when you pull the screen up to select, it would bounce right back under the screen. Not that that matters because once you add a wine there is still no information. I guess this is a diy list, you have to add every single detail yourself? I wasn’t looking for a project, I was looking for information, details, suggestions and prices. This app has none of that.

Good App but Has Issue

Good app. Needs improvement when creating a new entry using online info. What I have experienced is it creates a different varietal for each online entry. I have 5 or 6 Sauvignon Blanc varietal categories which can't be removed. When I try, the app closes. Also, most wines not in database and it is a pain to manually enter.

Perfectly basic

This app has really good features. It allows you to note quite all the things you want to remember about a wine. Tasting, color, barcode, etc. I’m impressed, and to be honest I haven’t explored everything it offers. So far, I am enjoying it. However, there are some things which could be improved. For instance, I like this app has te option to register your account, so your notes will be saved even if you chance your device (at least that’s what I understand as the reason to have this option). However, when you try to register, some “error” always happens and it is impossible to register. Moreover, sometimes it is hard to navigate in the app because it is not clear what each bottom will take you, so you think you’re gonna see your home page and suddenly you’re adding another wine without wanting to do that. Therefore, a few things could be improved and this app would be even better. Nonetheless, this app has shown itself perfect for me once I am looking for an app that allows me to have basic notes of my wines. Hope you enjoy it too!

Add feature to share wine reviews!!
slaglebagel17

There should be a feature to see what the general public likes, and to add friends and see their favorite

Good but not great
Oblio88

This is the best wine log app that I’ve tried, but there’s a lot of room for improvement: 1. Fix the bugs. It’s really glitchy and prone to sudden crashes. 2. For blended wines, let users enter the percentage of each grape. 3. After a few recoveries and syncs, I found that many varietals are repeated (for instance, I can choose from four Cabernet Sauvignons). That’s another bug. 4. App no longer allows users to add new aromas - it just crashes. 5. Barcode scan feature no longer finds anything.

Not as useful as Vivino
Tinman2222

I’ve used Wine Notes for about 5 years to record the wines we enjoy and want remembered in order to purchase again. I started using Vivino about 6 months ago and find that it gives information I can’t get through Wine Notes. Vivino is now my Goto source for wine information. Wine Notes is still used to record the wines we like.

Disappointed
philanderson

This app used to propagate all the info of the wine after scanning the barcode on the bottle but it doesn’t do that anymore and attempts to get a hold of the developer have all failed. Other than that it’s great!
