Awsome game

Just like the rest of the best, very simple yet addicting. Well worth $1.

Simple yet challenging!

William Tale is another classic example of a light, simple yet fun and highly addictive skill-based game. As with Nebulasoft's previous title "Alien Escape", William Tale offers a high degree of polish. The game features a unique blend of doodles, color, and fun looney sounds. Its light, clean and vibrant graphics quickly caught my attention as I started playing one of the challenges. The innocent, almost childish art style somewhat feels soothing to the eyes, effectively clearing my head of all worries and distractions. The game is largely skill-based, yet easy to use and learn. You basically control a lone, stationary archer with a bow, set on a horizontally-oriented side view screen. Your character's position is fixed to the lower-left corner of the screen, always facing the right end. From there, you must aim and fire your arrows by selecting a desired angle (ranging from 90 to about 135 degrees). Once an angle has been chosen, you can adjust the power level, which will determine how far the arrow will go. It takes a bit of trial-and-error before you can entirely get used to this, but the controls are decent and responsive. There's a simple help feature that will show you the basics of thh game via illustrated annotations, so getting started won't really be a problem. The real challenge lies with how well you can come up with a good trajectory for hitting either stationary or moving targets. There are three challenge modes available in the game. The first one is called "Apple or Head", where the player must successfully shoot and hit an apple laying on top of a person's head. Hitting that person instead of the apple will result to that person getting hurt, the apple dropping from his head, and effectively ending the challenge. There's no blood or gore here, btw. Successfully hitting the apple, however, brings you up to the next level where you must hit another apple, but from a significantly farther distance. The second challenge is called "Farm Defense". This is my favorite of the three. The title already speaks for itself. In this mode, you will have defend your farm from pigs and birds (or flying chickens) before they eat your corn (three corns represent your three lives/chances in the game). Once your corn is depleted, the game ends. They do, however, replenish after each wave, so all you have to do is survive each one - sounds easy huh?! Problem is, the animals move faster with each wave, so the game can get pretty fast-paced. The third challenge, "Apple Shooter", is probably the trickiest of the three. You have to shoot down apples (hanging from an apple tree), but given only a limited number of arrows to use. The tricky part is when you have to shoot down two or more apples with one shot. A bit of strategy and a lot of skill is needed to survive the challenge. Once all your arrows are used up, and at least an apple is left hanging from the tree, the game ends. This is probably the most difficult challenge for me, which is great btw, because I do love a good challenge. The apples appear randomly with each new game, so there's now way you can memorize a pattern. The game comes with Openfeint, which makes it possible for you to view your highscores, along with other Openfeint members online via the leaderboards. Various achievements can be accomplished as well, which I think is great in terms of replay value, considering the fact that you have three game modes available. As simple as the game may look, it offers a damn good challenge, which both casual and seasoned gamers will surely enjoy. I'm hungry for more challenges, and hopefully more will be available in the future! Great for pick-up-and-play, and I wouldn't hesitate at all recommending this for kids and adults :)

Too casual, though slightly fun

The Godless

Not quite challenging enough and a tad too repetitive for my tastes. I was honestly bored after playing all modes for about five minutes. I can see how casual gamers will get enjoyment from the simple gameplay, though for a real arrow shooting challenge, try Pandamania.

Great pick up and play game!

Warning!

I like this game a lot, but I was angry that you have to UNLOCK the apple tree and defense modes by reaching enough levels. Good game but plz fix this.

Bow shooting with replayability - 3.5/5

Squeaker@TA

This is a surprisingly fun casual game with nice graphics and good controls. It may not look that but I find myself playing and liking it more than I first imagined. With 3 mini games and OF achievements, it offers replay value which games of the same genre otherwise lack. Do consider this if you are looking for a simple time waster.

3 Simple Yet Fun Mini Games

That's how I'd summarize it ^ especially if you're into arching games. Runs well, nice graphics and music, and replayability. I'd spend a buck. PLEASE add more achievements!!!!<3 To the devs: there's a spelling error on the achievement 'Toxophilite'. It says 'Apple of head' instead of 'Apple OR head'. Just helping you out :)
