Cute. But a joke. Pretty useless, even for free. Pointed it at an ashtray, with a lit cigarette. Told me it was a "manhole cover." Good luck.
No doubt this is a great app, but its takes kinda long for it to really figure out the object, and I can't keep my iPad in the air staring at the object for so long.
This is isn't bad at all and kind of fun to play with. I can definitely see the potential in the future once it gets smarter. It detected a Dr Pepper (6%) logo and a computer monitor (45%) just fine. I hope the app is capable of learning so it will detect faster and more accurate. It would be nice to identify things that aren't common knowledge like parts to machines and electronics. Identifying things from different countries in different languages could come in handy in the future as well. In its current state I just can't see a use for it but once a few updates are made it could be a beast and helpful to a lot of people.
I feel like this is something that is feeding into a giant A.I. Database and we are all unwittingly or not helping to create a true sentient mind.
