The fandoms you can view through this app are limited. Unless the wiki you are looking for is massively popular you won’t find it here. Only reason I downloaded this to begin with is because the ads on the browser version are very intrusive and annoying. Also this app looks like it was designed 10 years ago.
The real wikia site showers you with ads, popups, and auto-playing video. The app avoids that and gives you bigger text but at the expense of other bugs and missing features. For example user comments aren't displayed (half the content of the site!), and the initial search to find wikis must match the name exactly or be a single word. Like "dragon's dogma" gives no results but "dogma" displays a few including "dragon's dogma wiki". In short, the app is nice as a lite little reader version, but shouldn't be forced on mobile users like it is currently.
The creators of this app stopped updating it 3 years ago. Which means all the info in this app is at least 3 years old. There are No info on games created after 2014.
I was able until today able to click on links to view information in every community until this is fixed I’m uninstalling.
I know wikia changed its name to “fandom” and is advertising the new “fandom” app, but that app is completely useless. This one actually is what it says it is, but I can’t find any recently created wikis. For example, I can browse the Yume 2kki wiki because it was created years ago and everything is up to date, but there are no search results for anything released in 2017 like Petscop and Doki Doki Literature Club (those were the only 3 I searched for). I’d advise (what used to be) wikia to not put all their eggs in one basket, since this older app works just fine, besides the lack of newer wikis.
Relatively easy on the ads. The contributing nerds have assembled everything from detailed game instructions, possible bugs/workarounds, Easter eggs, & walkthroughs... for THEIR favorite games
