Whizzy Kids

10 Fun games designed by a top child psychologist - for pre-school learning - ideal for 3-5yr olds.

Games Free Redemption Media iPhone, iPad, iPod

This App offers 10 (!) different games with different levels of difficulty.

Learning leads to learning leads to learning. Children are born wanting to learn and find out. They love to discover new skills and facts. Parents try to help but often find games that are fun but don't teach much, or teach stuff but aren't fun.

Ruth Coppard, a leading child psychologist, designed these games to help children to develop the sort of skills that underpin early school learning.

These games will encourage children to learn to memorise patterns, to look at detail, to match shapes and pictures, to listen to first sounds. And to always go from left to right - which is how european languages are read and written.

Follow this up with lots of games you can play at home and out and about: can you see 3 things with corners? What is round on the car? Play Simon Says: Simon says touch your eye; Simon says touch your knee; Simon says, put your hand on your foot; Show me your thumb, and if he does it, he's out. Can you take your finger for a walk from here [left] to there [right]. Tell me two things that start with a T, I Spy etc.

Ideal for anyone at this early stage, the games use brilliant designs, simple colours and silly sounds to make them even more fun.

Lame.

Doesn't allow for imagination. If I want to put the mouth above the eyes, I will, fascist.

Not great. No instructions, despite a listing for them. The eyes do not hook onto the faces. The matching game say "match shapes" but you get dominoes and the matching is for mirror images. I hope this app gets improved before you ask folks to pay for it.

Good for young kids, autistic children & kids with developmental delays
KbWaST

I am an occupational therapist in the school system and I just found this app on appshopper today. It does have some bugs (they eyes not working properly & puzzle pieces not moving smoothly), but with some adjustments I think it will work well with my students who have visual perceptual problems and poor body awareness. Make some upgrades and this could be a very nice app!

Ads?... Deleted.
Versapak

I am one hundred percent against ads in games for small children. At the least it is a nuisance to me as my child has no clue what happened to their game when they click on an attention drawing ad, and at the worst it enables them to be able to make purchases without my knowledge. I reiterate... App deleted.

We like it BUT...
JeTaimeChocolat

The parts of the face don't stick on the person and the mazes are buggy. If my daughter goes off the path, the boat disappears and she can't go on to the next level. I want so bad to like this app because it's cute, colorful, and attention-grabbing, but it's too buggy right now. Versapak, I think if you update your iTunes, it should have a component that allows you to always need your password before purchasing, even if it was less than 15 minutes since your last purchase. That's what I have read but don't quote me! :)

Maze disappointing
Sb716

The maze is so disappointing because it goes "off the path" too easily. I have problems with it myself so I wasn't surprised when my 5-yr old got frustrated. I agree with another reader that I wanted to like it. I just don't.
