"Where in the World?" (WITW) turns travel into a game by giving the user an extensive database of landmarks and tourist locations to visit. Using the location services on the iPhone (or iPod Touch) the game automatically detects the player's location and awards travel points as the world is discovered.

Enter your Twitter login info and your discoveries update your Twitter status automatically.

Using the new mapping features of iPhone OS 3.0, WITW provides each place with a short description and is accompanied by a map that is already zoomed in to that specific place. Want a closer look? Just tap on the map to bring up a full screen view that is navigation ready. The map also tracks your location in real-time so that you can see where you are in relation to a discovery.

Where in the World has a database with over 1600 discoveries. The whole world in the palm of your hand!

Just got the app/game and like it so far but I wish there was a way to mannually add dates to places you already been to in the past.

Love this game!

I love this game simply because I get to travel on a regular basis. I only wish it was in HD so the screens weren't so blurry on my iPad. I also wish there was a way to transfer my previous entries from my iPhone (from when I was playing it before I bought my iPad). Finally I wish I could see the places my friends were traveling too. But other than that, I love it for cross-country road trips and I'm definitely going to try it out when I go overseas this year. Too bad I didn't have it for all the other years I've traveled. The only real drawbacks I've found so far are 1) The app hasn't been updated since summer 2010 and any kind of email support seems to be non-existent and 2) EVERY place you go won't be recorded. It seems that it only picks up capitals and major landmarks in any country outside the USA.

Not the end all!

This was not nearly as good as I thought it would be. Have traveled a lot and a lot is missing. As for calling it a game, you can do the same on Facebook travel app. Thought it might have been the "where in the ??? is Carmen Santiago?" series or similar which is a great learning game for. Do not recommend it and wish I had not bought it!
