Wedding Escape

Touch Arcade review - 4.5/5 - "Wedding Escape is a great little puzzler with a funny theme and enough variation from standard match-three tropes to make a mark."

App Advice - "I highly recommend checking out Wedding Escape if you want a new puzzle game to play during the weekend or whenever you have some spare time."

DESCRIPTION:

Escape the matrimonial life in this innovative puzzle adventure. Match as many coins and diamonds as possible to advance to the next level and unlock power-ups along your journey. Collect up to 60 characters while competing for high scores with friends and the rest of the world.

Wedding Escape is made by a single developer and any feedback would be highly appreciated. Thanks for playing!

HOW TO PLAY:

"In all of the levels, players are presented with a grid that is filled with coin and diamond tiles. However you’ll notice that there are only two colors of both diamonds and coins. To make matches, you need to FLIP pieces to change their color, rather than swapping them around with each other. This can be done by tapping on a single piece, or you can drag your finger around to adjacent pieces to swap colors of up to five tiles at once. If a flip does not make any matches, then that move is not counted against you.
As you make progress in your escape, you will unlock power-ups that you can use on special pieces, which are made by matches of five or more. The power-ups are found above the grid, and to use them, just tap on the one you want, then pick the piece to use it on. But be warned — these count as a move too, so use them to their fullest. The power-ups are bomb (blow up adjacent tiles), mine (clear out pieces in a cross format), magnet (all pieces of one color are cleared out), and flip all. If you make a match with a special tile (indicated by glows or a number attached), then you get bonus tiles to go along with it, as those pieces are like stacks of tiles.” - Christine Chan (@christyxcore)

Love this game

It’s a really fun puzzle game I enjoy and use to pass time. It’s a little addictive! I like that you can earn money in the game to buy power ups and boosts. Really fun and looking forward to more play time!

Bad update
Jamie47561

The update changed the game completely. You can only move up to 3 tiles now instead of 5. This made the game extremely hard and not fun anymore.

No. -_-

The game used to be pretty fun and cool to play. And I liked the characters. But then the new updates came out making the game more "challenging" and less fun. And now the game doesn't seem special anymore. It seems like a cheap knockoff.

Disappointing update

I was really excited when I saw there was an update available for this game. While most of the updates were welcome I can't see myself playing this game any more. Like others have said the game used to allow you to flip 5 of the pieces which was cut down to 3 in this update. It changes the mechanics of the game and makes it feel really restricts. The game lost a lot of it magic with this change. Hopefully the devs read about our disappointment and change this restriction back to its original state.

Fantastic update!

Although some people may be upset about the immediate/temporary decrease in power (less tile flips per move), I think this update is exactly what Wedding Escape needed. Unlocking characters was getting a little stale for me and I think the new upgrade system offers a much nicer sense of progression for players. You've also monetized in a great way i.e. Opt-in ads for extra spins on the slot machine. I'm really glad Unity is pushing developers to adopt this format. As a player, I actually prefer it over having no monetization, so it's a win-win. Keep up the great work!

Formerly great game ruined by IAP cash grab
Leitmotifs

The 2.0 update ruined what had been a brilliant and unique puzzler that I could play for hours on end. I had paid for all the one-time unlockables other than the characters (cosmetic at an insane $0.99/each) because I wanted to support the developer. I really regret it since the new update has introduced a ton of "upgrades" that destroy the mechanics and are a blatant cash grab. If I could downgrade I would, and thumbs down this game on every review site that gave it a great review on the original version.

Newest update is cash grabbing disappointment
zombeficent

I could have dealt with the needlessly complicated new upgrade system for the points, but the fact that you took away our ability to purchase new characters with rewards earned from running the levels, so now the only way to obtain them is to spend $0.99? (You have 70 characters by the way, I'm sure you've done the math) disgusting. I have to one star this game I used to love and delete it from my phone because you sucked out all the fun. Enjoy your measly purchases.

Corrected update
ikimasu1

Thank you for changing back to 5 tiles! Thankful you listened to feedback. I doubt it was actually a "bug" but still glad it's what it should be so back to 5 stars :)

Give the old one back
I LOVE THIS SO MUCHH

Everyday when I wasn't at gymnastics and my stuff I'd play wedding escape I loved it I didn't end up with the same characters and all now that the update came I hate it honestly bc it takes only 3 moves not 5 and I unlock the characters I have not the new ones I still play but not so much

This game rocks

I don't think this game is getting enough recognition I think it is a very excellent game and you should download it so these people can keep updating it and making it even better!!!!
