Web Cast - This is a Chromecast companion app. It allows you to display websites onto your TV with your chrome cast. This is display ONLY, navigational capabilities not available.
This application is great for displaying maps, menu, events, photo albums and etc., onto the TV from a website.
For example, a restaurant could display food menus, a building could display a building directory, or a local shop could display items on sale.
Please enter the full url for websites. Including http:// or https://
NOTE: Not guaranteed to work all website due to security features.
Popular sites that does not work:
Google, Facebook, Pinerest, Yahoo, Youtube, Linkedin, Live, Twitter, Wordpress, Ebay, Tumblr, Instagram, Microsoft, IMDB, Reddit, Blogger, Flickr, Netflix, Etsy, Pandora, Groupon, WikiHow.
Roadmap: We are open to suggestions on new features and fixes. Send your request to [email protected]
Great start hope more progress is made for iOS apps.
If you guys add actual browsing functionality to this app, it would be my #1 go-to application for chromecast!
Did not work with several websites! Good idea, but it needs a lot more work!! Keep on trying! It's a good idea, but it needs a lot of more work.
I could get to the website but could not navigate through site only look at what was on the screen.
I could get my web site up, I just couldn't do anything with it.
This app is nonsense. You're presented with an interface that tells you to type in a valid URL. You do, and then you press the link that says "update screen with website". You then get an error message telling you to connect to the cast device, but there is no place to make that connection! Where do I tell it to connect to my Chromecast? There is no place to do that. At the bottom left there is an icon that looks like it should serve this function, but pressing it does not do that. It's only used to switch between the cast page and the info page. There is no place to connect to the actual Chromecast device I have in my house. Meanwhile, the EZCast app does this and MUCH more!
Couldn't make any website to open with Chromecast. Total waste of time. Don't even bother to try.
I copied and pasted a URL from Safari and it loaded properly, but I can't control the web page(scroll, open links). I hope this app goes far in the future
