Yep, you must give them your personal information to use this app. That means they are tracking company’s employees, can’t imagine who would find that kind of information of value. The company who is paying the employee? ...or a competitor??? Doesn’t matter how good they are, they have no more business with our personal information than the average “anonymous-user” app gleans on a daily basis. Deleted.

As an athletic trainer for a high school my number one priority is the safety of my athletes. This app is the extension of their website based program that is absolutely second to none. Used to be I relied on a lightning detector that gave me an approximate range of where a strike was. This however literally shows me Nearly LIVE stats on local strikes to within just a few seconds prior. Not only do I know EXACTLY where a stroke of lightning happened, I also know what type it is, it's intensity, etc... I also get text alerts giving me all clear information regarding the time for lightning moving out of area. This is an INVALUABLE life saver! GREAT WORK TELVENT!!!

Looking for an alternative to pin point lightning being as they suspended their service on March 31st 2012, still waiting on their updated version which is supposedly an in app purchase of the "my weather" app. So looking for a lightning warning app and breifly heard about telvent in another review, so I downloaded the app and low and behold they are requiring a username and password, thanks for the warning so guess I'll take the advice and issue mine to others to stay clear of this one.

MyWeather let us down, removing their lightning app before the new version was launched. This app wants almost 3x as much a year & Bolt Lightning isn't near the app of any of them. Sure I want Lightning Strike back but until then during the severe storm season, I'll use Lightning Finder!

Telvent service is fantastic. As an AT the lightning detection is top notch. Only complaint is that the app needs to be updated. Telvent recently released an update for the PC version that included Wet Bulb and Future Ligtning; would be nice to have these options on the app version. Update the app and this will definitely be a 5 star app.
