An App Other Pilots Will Be Jealous Of

RPG139

The watch complication function in this App amazing. At a glance the color coded conditions give you an instant indication of weather, and a single click will pull up the full Metar and TAFs. I congratulate the developer on filling a void left by Foreflight. This is how major developers get started and I wish the development team the best. Also, the response time is very fast from the developer. This App should be priced higher as it brings out the full potential of my iWatch for aviation.

Great display, seems buggy

Overtime11

I often get “Favorites list is empty” when it is not empty. Probably every other day, which kills on the complications on my Series 4 watch. Also, it appears the weather won’t auto refresh on the watch, you have to tap the complication and launch the app on the watch to get the latest weather. If these two issues were overcome it would be a 5-star app (I’d like to have it available everyday as I am a flight instructor in a place with unpredictable weather).

No International airports.

A graphic interphase is very nice. But you can only add US airports for the weather. So not recommended for somebody who flies internationally like me.

Vs AeroWeather

Rickyroow

I have used AeroWeather for years. Great on the iPhone but horrific on the Apple Watch. Finally this app nails it. Complication in watchface works perfectly. Updates the conditions as expected. Nice work

Does not work on Apple Watch

Sean Mar

I bought this for the complication on my new Apple Watch, it is stuck on an outdated ATIS, and nothing I do will get it to update. Very unhappy, I would not suggest it

Difficult to use

thull2044

Doesn’t show location on complication. Location service grayed our in settings

Good App! One problem

Julian2131

I as well frequently still have been having the same problem as setting a favorite airport on my Apple Watch. I have been using this app for the past 2 months, and It continues to say “No Station Set” no matter how many times I refresh it at times. I frequently fly and this is a key and easy tool for preparing for my flights. I love this app and would love to continue to use it but this one feature is problematic.

Great for METAR @ a glance

FAP Pilot

The app with color coding provides a quick METAR status at a glance. The search function works quickly and has been the best aviation app for the watch I’ve tried. It’s a 5 star app when the small bug related to reaquiring the favorites after the watch has been docked for charging. There is a simple work around until a future update as relayed by the developer: “...force quit WatchMetar and then start it again. To do it, you need to launch WatchMetar, then press and hold the long side button until the shutdown menu appears. Then press and hold the digital crown until the menu & WatchMetar disappear and it shows you your current watchface. Then launch WatchMetar again and it should reload favorites.” The developer was very responsive.

Best so far!

Aside from being free, I find this app to be the best METAR/TAF for the Apple Watch. Not sure if it’s only for the series 4, since that’s how it displays in the settings, but that’s what I own. It updates regularly and that’s a plus. The other app I have with an Apple Watch complication falls behind on updating. I like the simplicity and quick ability to check Wx, even when at work. I’m unsure why some reviews are critical. The only issue I’ve had is when starting the watch up for the day it will say station not set. One Tap and it works the rest of the day no problem. For my uses, I’m not concerned about the US-only data.
