Near perfect idea, near worst execution

You can watch the shows and events on espn networks and espn 3, but if you have to pause, minimize the app, rewind or fast forward, your program is almost assuredly going to freeze or just sit with the spinning circle of death for eternity. If you have all day and unlimited patience, more power to you. For me, I just spent two hours trying to watch a soccer game and finally quit at the 50 minute mark because I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to restart the whole app 4 or 5x and then spend another 5-10 minutes scrolling through the match trying to figure out where I was when the app quit. If you just want to follow a score with a little video, you could do worse. But if you actually want to watch the game, it’s probably one of the worst of the love sports viewing apps I have

With my APPLE TV and my computer and ESPN watch I can watch ESPN items on TV. I love it! Watch ESPN allows me to watch Ole Miss play in sporting events that we are not featured in on cable or road sat tv.
Nearly a Bait and Switch

Game I was watching suddenly disappears from ESPN and a scroll comes on my screen directing me to follow the game on this app. Download app and find game listing, but wait, I’ve got to sign in through my TV cable subscription. My cable provider (Duh-finity) doesn’t offer that feed for free in my area, so now it’s going to cost me to watch a game that was advertised as being on our regular cable TV package. Back to reading the book I was going to read anyway tonight. Wonder if ESPN notices that their subscriber numbers are falling? This kind of behavior might have something to do with that decline.

Unfortunately this is the only app to watch espn. I can't really complain, but if they ever want people to pay for subscriptions for their content they need to make it much better. It's very glitchy and will crash/freeze most of the time. So many better apps out there for streaming live tv. This app has been behind for years and could benefit from obvious UI improvements but its still unchanged.

Never loads properly, doesn’t allow cable sign in 9/10 times just refreshes or says unable to play video
