Needs an update

Gravage

It looks like the developer has basically abandoned this app. It hasn't been updated in almost a year, though I enjoy it.

Decent

Madtown AS

I played the board game quite a bit and this implementation is missing a lot of the aspects such as the wizards guild and ways change spells for your wizard. Missing some of the random events as well. The graphics are good and the mechanics are very similar to board game. It generally does the trick and worth the price. I hope the developers continue to add content and improve the random events. I hate being stuck with crappy spells. So fix that and add the pit fighter and some guns. Overall very happy.

Not too shabby

CSC2047

A bit repetitive in combat mechanics and dungeon crawling, but the graphics, music, and story is engaging enough for hours of gameplay. Great for turn based RPG gamers on the go. Sure the enemy AI can be a bit dumb, and the mage resource pool seriously cripples magic users, but all in all its been a fun 30 hours of finding and upgrading loot while beating the story mission. Too bad the developers didn't finish a possible 4th expansion. The map is there, the path is there, you just can't get to it! In a fantasy RPG, the developers could have expanded so much more! For example, a forest with dark elves as enemies, or an orc camp, it didn't need to be all dungeon tile sets. Still a very fun game in my opinion!

First impressions

colintagray

Just purchased the game - spent more than I normally do, because it seems like a quality game. And what do I first notice? I RIDICULOUS amount of in app purchases. That's what I call a "dick move", guys. This is my final straw with Games Workshop. This company used to be by and for the gamers, I don't know when they sold out. Edit 3/3/2016: tried again, and this time I got sick of the missed attacks. Many others noticed this and complained, and you should listen to them!

Excellent absolute excellent

Great game, takes some time to get your characters over the hump and equipped but once you do then your good

Kind of buggy

Captain H'S

The game looks really good, even the sound track is easy to listen too. But right from the start I noticed a bug in the "Warriors Phase" banner that never seems to go away. It sits about a third of the way down from the top left corner as a ghost image you can see through, but cannot tap through. Quite often it has been in the way of tapping on one of my characters. It would be nice if it was in the top corner and out of the way. I don't get why it is down in the play area. Second, I had just finished my third adventure saving the Burgermeister's daughter, when suddenly the game crashed and dropped me out of the game. When I restarted all of my progress was lost and had to start over. No saved game on a game that appears to auto save. Then of course trying to figure out if I could get my saved game back I exited out of the dungeon the game starts in and was defaulted to defeated and lost my chance to try to get back to where I was previously. Then on top of all that, the game seems to be stack unnecessarily hard against you. I've never played a game before were my hardened warriors would miss a half dozen to a dozen times in a row. Or while you were just looking at the screen trying to figure something out, suddenly get robbed or injured or some other random event. And after reading some of the other reviews, I don't think I'm the only one.

Great Game

Winzarbob

Great game great story great graphics. Only problem is the cost for expansion. If you wanted the full experience you'd have to pay just short of $45 that's outrageous. You'd have much better success if you'd sell the whole package for $9.99-$19.99.

Mixed-emotions but sluggish...

SK8SKISM

Innovative interface but gameplay mechanics feel a bit dated and sluggish... Ranged attacks are horrible and random loot is a hit or miss. Their in-game market is as greedy as their in-app store which is a little offensive considering I paid for the game to begin with... I don't know how they sleep at night knowing their in-app prices total 3x their initial admission price... Their priorities violate the very trust of their customers. It's why I've stopped supporting consoles in the first place!

Great rpg tactical game

Tvue 12345678910

The game itself is great, beautiful graphic. The battle systems is easy to get use to. I do have a few complaint, like why do I have to use real money to buy new adventurers, why can't I buy them with the gold I earn in the game. Also as mention in some comment, I do notice some of my character missing attack quite often, but I can live with that. Just want the game to have characters that I can purchase with gold earn in the game.???

Wasted time for the wasted time god!

CyberSpade

I got this when it was free and am really enjoying it. Even for $5, it's worth the money. A fun tactical rpg, and overall one of the more "fun." Games I've played on iPhone. The extra content in app purchases are fun and worth it I think, although I wish they hadn't locked the extra classes behind a paywall because there's really no way to see if you like them other than trying them out. That being said, the default four classes are all great and really all you need. I don't even think there's a viable alternative to the default wizard's healing abilities...
