Asynchronous Play
Trotzke

After playing the card version my friends and I were excited to try the digital version. Unfortunately, what we were most excited about isn’t an option. Unlike games like Magic with event stacking, it seemed the core mechanics of Warhammer Champions would make it be able ideal to play asynchronously against each other (like Ascension or Carcassonne). A large group of us that lost interest because we couldn’t connect up for games easily and feed of of one another’s discoveries. The ability to scan cards is brilliant, but playing offline could lead to playing online with the same people— just more conveniently. If the developers are trying to expand the user base, the virality of asynchronous invitation and play would be absolutely massive. It is the one missing component, in my view, to turn this game into a chart topper.

Great game!
The NF Fan

Unlike most card games these days, this one doesnt copy Magic or Hearthstone. Also this game lets you get alot of cards for free and doesnt feel like a money grab. My only problems with it is that there are no Skaven cards in wave one packs but that will probalby change when more cards are added. And of course Stormcasts get all the cool toys once again. But other then that great game!

The epitome of “pay to win.”
Brutaluhtor

The card game itself is tons of fun. However it is abundantly clear that this app is nothing more than a cheap cash grab. If you don’t spend any money, either on the digital currency or just buying cards and scanning them, expect to get destroyed by people who clearly did.

Work in progress
Payne1982

Drains your battery immensely. No option to lessen graphics. You can’t do anything about rage quits. You lose match if you reconnect even if you were about to win. You have no idea what some blessings are doing cause they auto function then disappear. Some cards still don’t work as advertised. Balance issues still. No one likes gem systems. Except companies. Card level up not explained? Doesn’t tel you which ones leveled up. So, pointless? Forward backward rotation system confusing for newbies. Cards can be played even though they produce no effect and do not advance quest markers.

Great title, but at a cost.

Not being a Warhammer 40K veteran, but an Magic the Gathering fan (I know, stop reading I’m a terrible and stupid peon) ;) I was drawn into the interactive and ground breaking turn based style of the card game at my local game store. So I purchased a Chaos Campaign deck since I cater to an aggressive style and like stompy builds. By beating the AI you actually own all four decks for free and is incredible at first until you realize you’ll have to pay to play against faster and stronger deck builds. The cards are top quality, but the problem is the cost to build custom deck lists have gone up drastically. I was hopeful that scanning your cards into the application would have the best of both worlds in an augmented reality based platform. Even with the current update introducing ranked gameplay is great, however the in-game rewards to purchase boosters or create individuals cards has been skewered. Everything about the game is heading towards profit, and is understandable since it costs millions to initially design, develop, and maintain this gaming format. But with broken/jank boss missions such as “Defeat Nagash” that has four champions being well over 20 (See below for details). Leading me to believe the try hard in all of us will willingly pay for stronger champion/blessings/units to earn the win. I love the game, but if this is the direction Warhammer AoS Champions wants to take it’s saddening. Not sacrificing the spirit of gameplay and having fun for grotesque profits would be ideal, but who knows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ September 23rd 2018 “Beat Nagash” list of champions was as follows from a recording game: -Nefarat, Mortarch of Blood - 11 -Nagash, Supreme Lord of the Undead - 15 -Barrows Wight King - 3 -Hell Knight - 2 Grand total = 31

Destruction Overpowered
BringBackTheMcrib

Destruction is very overpowered. It is very easy for destruction to generate card draw, gain extra actions, and gain health while still dealing damage. Other factions sacrifice actions or play cards in certain ways to draw cards, but destruction’s hand remains full of cards and still fills the board. If this isn’t fixed/balances soon it will really hurt the player base and possible the future of the game.

Game not loading on new iOS?

The game won’t open today. Any thoughts? I’m digging the game and would love to play.

Finally a card game worthy of the Warhammer Title!

WHAOS:Champions is a well made, fun, and exciting card game. This app allows you to play it wherever whenever. You cam go the completely free route, or you can purchase physical cards from your FLGS and scan them in. Alternatively they offer an in game currency to exchange for digital packs. Another great bonus is the ability to scan special cards that players recognize from the physical product, and the company who makes AOSC (not gw) has a thread on their page for players to upload pictures of their cards for players around the world to scan.

Plays just like the tabletop TCG
Geekedupgaming review group

So you bought some cards at your local game store. Now what? Play in local tournaments at your LGS or have a second way to play those cards and any deck you’ve created in the physical form. Test new decks and cards by scanning building and then playing!!! Don’t want to buy physical cards? There is an in App Store where you can buy digital cards as well. I’ve had loads of fun playing the physical and digital. So much I even run the games on my twitch channel every Sunday. (Mobile only so far). Testing decks is where i get my most use out of them. Oh I keep saying them lol. That’s because I also play lightseekers. I’ve been playing lightseekers for a full year here in the US. Two Gencons ago is where I got involved and I’m so happy I picked it up!!

Load balancer??
Fight King 17

I can’t even play. Keeps saying “Error talking to load balancer, please try again later.”
