I participated in the beta for this game. When it hit the App Store and the beta stopped working I purchased the core game and the expansion bundle without hesitation. This game is that good. I'm a serious fan of hex and counter wargames (grew up on the Avalon Hill classics like PanzerBlitz and Squad Leader). This game is one of the very best strategy games available on iOS. It uses the already fantastic Panzer Corps engine and manages to create a unique and challenging experience all its own. The theme is fun, the unit count is insane, understanding your unit stats is a must, combined arms rules the day, the battles become huge, and it all runs like butter on my iPad. If you think Clash of Clans is a strategy game this might not be for you. But if you love a truly challenging turn-based hex and counter wargame with a fun theme, multiple difficulty levels, loads of options and content, hours and hours of gameplay, and huge epic battles then this is a must buy. Slitherine makes games that stay on my PC and iPad for years. This one is no exception.

Program locks up

Fun game, but program locks up at the end of every act. Don't waste your money until a patch comes out. I have an iPad Air 2 with latest iOS.

This is a great strategy game. It reminds me a lot of an old Warhammer 40K called Final Liberation. I've wanted an updated version of that game and now I have it.

It is OK but doesn't seem worth the money

The tutorial is weak and the interface takes some work to learn. For a straight hex battle game it is fine but for me it shouldn't cost more than 9 dollars. 19.99 is ridiculous. Doesn't even come close the Xcom for playability and replay ability. I am still replaying Xcom after many months.

This game is totally worth getting. Strategy at its finest, AND SPESS MAHRINS!!! However, the game crashes, while not frequently, annoyingly. Good thing the game auto saves after each turn, because if not, I'd have rage quit a LONG TIME AGO. Still, get this game. No joke, one of the best games available on iOS.

Great till it becomes unplayable

As with most games, it's a lot of fun till you need to be a war hammer 40k expert to even understand what units you need. Then you just lose till you get bored and delete.
