Traditional War is simple to pick up and learn. The deck is split into two piles, yours and your opponents. Each player flips cards from the tops of their deck, the highest card winning both cards. The goal is to bring the opponents card count to 0.
5 Man Melee operates in a similar fashion where the deck is still split into two piles, but some new changes are involved. Each side draws 5 cards from their deck, and can organize them into how they want them to be revealed. Each card battles the card across from them, with the higher card being the victor. The winning card is retained by the player, while the losing card is discarded. 5 Man Melee goes quickly, so you can get many more games in over Traditional War.

Just downloaded this to play with my friend who also downloaded this for his iPhone and we couldn't connect to each other while sitting on the same couch. It has been deleted.
No way to turn the noise off

They added an annoying noise here, and there is nothing is settings to stop the noise... Also nothing to get the traditional card faces.. only the new type.. THis app was nice and easy and simple.. now has added annoying options... Please make a way to turn the annoying sound off and change the face fronts to normal style!

A way to mute the sound effects would be nice, and I don't understand why I need a second iPad or an iPhone or other I device just to play with my wife or other friend, just fit both decks on the same screen opposite from each other, and make it multi touch (the cards are always unseen anyways until the draw) kinda silly to need to buy a second $600-$800 iPad to play a game of war... The bluetooth feature should be a luxury not a necessity With these changes it's a 5 star app.

There should be a way to play another game without disconnecting. I don't know if this is a glitch but I was playing with my ipad and iphone and every war the iphone threw a 3 for the fourth card and the ipad threw a Q or J. At first I thought it was coincidence but it happened about 15 times in a row.
