This app is unofficial and I am not Games Workshop™ : you need to have purchased the codex for your army.
The mod is great and convenient but I'm only able to have one Chaos list at a time saved. Every time I've tried to create a second one, the new list never appears. I've only seen this bug with Chaos from 40K
This app is decent, but there are editable PDF roster sheets that do the same thing with better grace you can download with a quick Google search. Also Tyranids are misspelled in this app.
At first I was happy with the simple style of the app, but was then immediately put off by the fact that the app has you put in every single stat and name for every piece of equipment you want. That is ridiculous if you wanted to run even a basic 1,000 point game it would take you all day to make a list with this app. This needs to be fixed if you want people to use your app. Most people simply won't even try to put a list together with the amount of time it takes to use this app.
First there is only one Chaos option to choose which is a bummer for people wanting to run Chaos Space Marines or Daemons. Second some of the new armies that have been released such as Deathwatch have not been added. Finally there is know space to add in relics/artifacts.
I typically play more narrative games of WH40k. To this end, it can be hard to find the mix of units, and rules, that provide the reference I'm looking for. While I can build my own rosters in a spreadsheet, this app provides the structure to present that army, in an attractive way. With all the army-building utilities out there, I'm excited to say that this one allows the most creative, and narrative freedom.
Downloaded it, opened it, and couldn't do anything past that point. Waste of time. I'll stick with pen and paper.
