The models are derived from waifu2x-caffe.
All the models are running on device, so it doesn't need to upload image to any server.
By default images are saved in PNG format. You can change it any time in "Preferences".

There is no way I'm going to spend $7.99 on two different devices, on the same app, with the same features. You'd think having it bought on one device, one the same Store would make it a universal purchase, but apparently not. This isn't fair.

Even though the noise removal works, it still causes some of the images to lose there quality. It would be great if there was an update were the image not only gots its size increased buts its quality as well.

This app does exactly what it’s meant to do, perfectly. The first thing I noticed about this app is how simple it is. Compared to other image enhancer apps, Waifu2x has no clutter whatsoever— no ads, no marketing and no paywalls. Combine that with the phenomenal results and you get one of my favorite apps.

The previous iteration, Waifu Magnifier was already easy to use and the new universal app, Waifu2x works great as well. It also has new models and is extremely fast on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.

I’ve been searching for years for a stable, usable app that provides upscaling and “super resolution” features for both photos and video. The software has been available for years in professional video-editing programs, but now that mobile phones can finally compete processor and memory-wise, it’s so satisfying and inspiring to find an app that attempts this feat. The few clips that I have tried to “upres” have been fair to good with the free models, and each clip gets a little better the more I adjust the settings. They take quite a few minutes to process, so a “render in background” feature would make this a non-issue, if it’s possible to accomplish on an iOS environment. Thank you so much for this welcome addition.
