The official Volvo On Call app allows you to access your vehicle from your iPhone. This requires a vehicle from model year 2012 (North America requires model year 2015.5) that is equipped with a Volvo on Call Telematics unit. If your vehicle fulfills these requirements you will, depending on your model, be able to:

• Check vehicle dashboard status, such as fuel or battery level, trip meters, and more.
• Control your fuel fired parking heater, if the vehicle is equipped with a fuel fired parking heater.
• Control your cabin climate, if the vehicle is a plug-in hybrid.
• Locate your vehicle on a map or use the vehicle signal horn and blink indicators.
• Check the current status of doors, windows and locks for your vehicle.
• Lock and unlock the vehicle remotely.
• Request roadside assistance from within the app.
• Edit your driving journal, categorize trips as business or private, merge trips, rename and send to an email contact.

• Even though you do not currently own a Volvo fulfilling the Volvo On Call requirements above, you can still install the App and try the demo mode.

Reviews

Volvo app

I never write reviews but this app is horrible and I’m inclined to make this review in hopes Volvo will do better since I will have this car for the the foreseeable future. My biggest issue with this app has no control over climate, I started my car to warm it up on this cold November day and when I got to the car the AC was blowing. You should be able to control the temp setting through the app.

Unreliable
swingspan

The app is completely unreliable. You have to quit and restart to get it to refresh. Ever shows accurate charge level. Unlock/lock works half the time. Starting works rarely, and the pre-climate features almost never appear let alone work. If Volvo fixes this, it will be awesome. Until then, they shouldn’t advertise this app in selling the cars.

Awful App
Hhajhhah

How can you guys not figure out what all Other app creators have! You need to fire who you have working on this. I buy a $65,000 car and you can’t even get the app right! Would leave negative stars if I could! The app doesn’t work for the XC40 Recharge. Get it together! Can’t set up timers, can’t get the heat going when I’m not in the car, can’t get an accurate battery %. Awful!

Version 5.7…Forgot A “Feature”
Marc.Caruso

They neglect to mention that the 5.7 update REMOVES the ability to initiate and/or schedule remote climate control (at least on my 2022 XC40 Recharge). What a joke. Hopefully they will release another update very soon that brings it back (and hopefully working properly this time). So disappointed with my user experience for this vehicle. Don’t realize something before it’s ready for prime time, Volvo.

2022 XC60

I am extremely disappointed with the ap. This is my third Volvo and the 2022 switched from the Sensus system to the Google Android system. Apparently neither the ap nor the car is compatible with Apple car play. I have had the car for 3 days and the remote start feature disappeared. It was necessary to sign out and sign in again. (The fix suggested by Volvo support). Additionally, the feature that was present on previous years that allowed someone to find the vehicle on a map or to send directions to the vehicle is no longer present. Overall the ap technology is a failure.

Very limited functions
ivanxint

Just for the 2022 XC60 and I’m really disappointed with the app. So far in the app I’m all able to do is unlock the car or start the climate setting whenever the icon doesn’t disappear. I upgraded from the xc40 and I was able to do so much more with the app. I was able to locate the car, keep a driving journal, send map directions to the car, check gas and the status of the car ect. I contacted support and they told me it was an issue with the car and would most likely be fixed with the next app update. I hope they fix it soon because I really miss those features.

Last update scare
MarBarWins

I recently updated the app & found a lot of features were no longer available until I deleted & reinstalled the app, ? I’m really happy with the app oh yeah, and the new car, lol. Can’t wait to see what will be added in future updates.

Sophisticated brand of cars and then there is this app
Square State

We love our Volvo. We have had two. Safety, styling, vehicle technology and user function is all 5 stars which is why the issue with the app is perplexing. Whoever designed the user facing technology for the vehicle needs to partner with the app developers. Not easy or quick to log in. You can walk to the car faster than unlocking or using remote start. You can’t control the heated or vented seats, not adjustment to the inside temperature and you use to be able to start the air scrubber but that option has went away. Even sending direction to the vehicle takes minutes and often fails. Come on Volvo! Design an app that is a great as your vehicles!

Pricey app for doing nothing

Pricey app for doing nothing.

Nothing works correctly.

I bought a 2022 Z XC60 less than a month ago and have had it to the dealer three times. The app will not work properly with the “new technology.” I had to leave it overnight to get them to fix bugs that caused the climate feature not to work. I can now start the car using the app but the timer feature that allows you to start the car at the same time on designated days has vanished. The tab is still there but now I have no options to set the timers. Calling Volvo USA is useless. I’ve called 4 times and have gotten a different and useless answer each time. Very disappointed that I put my hard earned money into a car that doesn’t work properly.
