This app does it all for my needs . If you want a pro-ap w/ total data ,I'm certain these folks have "pro" version at a reasonable cost. For free it is perfect for my needs and would rate higher but 5's the limit ! Thankx ! Dan

Absolutely too many alerts! I could not find a way to limit alerts nor select only the volcanos I am interested in.
Decent info, but lacks customization

This app provides a good bit of information about volcanoes all over the world, but the notifications settings are severely lacking in customization, despite the promise the app makes for "customizable alerts." The result is that you're bombarded with ash alerts for volcanoes literally half a world away, with no ability to filter these alerts for distance from the user or a set point. I wanted something that would alert me to volcanic activity near us, but instead I get notifications for volcanoes all over the world! It's too much info--I just ended up turning off the notifications, so this app is basically useless to me now. Also, many volcanoes which are classified by the rest of the world as "dormant" or "extinct" are classified in this app as "potentially active." While perhaps technically true, this is not a particularly helpful classification. Don't waste your money on the in app purchase. All it does is removes ads and gives you a little more info on the ash alerts (but no customization of said alerts).

About six months ago I bought a few apps which track earthquakes, hurricanes, and cyclones around the planet. I always had a hidden interest about volcanos. I live in a State of the US, where over 3/4 the real estate was formed by ancient volcanos. This is the State of New Mexico, so one day I checked with the App Store. I wondered if there was an app keeping up with all the volcanos on earth. This app does exactly that quite nicely. The app works with Maps, showing exactly where all the volcanos are located. There's both satellite imagery, as well as photos taken from planes, and ground. As much as can be possible, there's information provided for every volcano across the globe. There's current activity, as well as ash reports as they come in all over the earth. I have fun learning about all the volcanos, and terminology. I highly recommend this app, they give you a lot for just a few dollars.
