Intrusive ads, auto play when not asked for, etc.

The ads popup unexpectedly and even cover up the interface. Play back a track and it goes to the next one, whether you want it to or not. Simple design, although not immediately clear how to create a new track. Oddly, it's named Voice Recorder, but the app's name on the home screen is Recorder. Confusing! I checked and it is the right app. (Didn't want to leave a review for the wrong app!) It did seem to be the app that won out over freebies, but that's not saying much! It's the ads that bug one, though!

In a class, we quickly needed to set up a recorder. Downloaded this and was able to quickly upload to google drive and send out the recording. Couldn't be happier.

I'm working on a memoir for a family member and have used this app on my iPhone to record our interviews. Voice quality is excellent. I like that I can use it on my iPhone because my device is unobtrusive and readily available to take photos on the fly to complement the narratives. The 15-second playback along with the minute markers make transcription easy. The file naming feature helps me keep the recordings organized and easily accessible. The minute markers make it easy to resume transcription without losing your spot. The display of the file size in KB and MB helps me decide which files I have time for transcription. Having a realtime countdown of minutes helps me decide whether to continue transcription or resume later. I wish I had used this when working on my dissertation!

We (my secretary and I) got the app and practiced using it with FaceTime several times in preparation for an important (legally-related) FaceTime interview via iPad. It started OK, but when the 2-1/3-hour session was over, the recorder had frozen at "0:55." That may have been because the call was interrupted at the other end (a flaw that was reported by at least one other user), BUT, more important, all of the controls were frozen and NONE of the recording could be played or saved. Everything was lost with no warning or way to recover any of the data.

Love the old school look of the app. The recordings sound crystal clear. I will recommend this app to anyone wanting a good recording with an old school look.

I used Recorder to test and assemble the order and pace of my new EP....without this, I'd be tethered to my laptop. Has NEVER crashed, audio is as clear as the source, and background play with 3-button headphones works flawlessly. To the creator, great work, keep it up please!!!
