Great app for practicing singing!

Howard Gerald

Devox (I think) is short for "De-vocalizer," and it does a good job of removing voals from songs if that is what you want it to do. I use it as a personal karaoke app, which lets me practice songs for church specials. Some of the feature that set it apart from ther karaoke apps are (1) the abilty to remove vocals from songs, (2) the ability to change to pitch of the music, (3) the ability to use any MP3 song (just copy your accompaniment songs to your iPhone in iTunes, (4) the ability to add reverb to mimic a church sanctuary's acoustics, (5) the abillty to set a "Gate" level so that the mic will not pick up backround noise if I am practicing in my car, and (6) the ability to record your performances. I recommend using a set of headphones that does not have a built-in in-line mic, otherwise you will be singing into it. If you use a set of headphones without a built-in mic, then you sing into the iPhone's mic, which works much better in my opinion. Anyway, its a great app.
